GAINESVILLE -- Florida Gators quarterback Luke Del Rio will be officially out this week, coach Jim McElwain said Monday.

"Obviously we'll be going in with a new quarterback," McElwain said as he previewed his team's top-20 matchup against rival Tennessee.

Del Rio left after taking a hit to his left knee in the third quarter of UF's 32-0 win over North Texas on Saturday.

"He's got a bum leg," McElwain said. "He should be back sometime - I don't know when it's going to be."

I hope they teach their tight end Goolsby to block before Saturday or he might just trip a Vol defensive end into Appleby's leg after getting beat and then they'd be down to the third string quarterback.

Let's give him Santa Anna's leg back instead.

That's a pretty good idea.... cuz I heard somebody already gave the kid's leg to Ray as a chew toy.

Has anything come out about the nature/extent of Del Rio's "bum leg"?

It was reported early as a strained ACL and I haven't read anything different.  Supposedly he was to be out 2-3 weeks.
