Heading down with at least 3 others hopefully more.  We need a big splash of GREEN in those stands to help our team get out of September 2-2!

Rice Stadium is a special place to me.  As I've posted before, it was the site of my first ever college football game as kid.

Our next door neighbor in Danbury (located between Alvin & Angleton) worked for Humble  who were sponsors of Southwest Conference football, so he was always dumping tickets onto my dad and me.  One memorable one was watching UT play Ole Miss in the Bluebonnet Bowl which was held in Rice Stadium before moving to the Astrodome.  Super Bill Bradley was a UT QB and Houston Spring Branch great Chris Gilbert was the star RB for the Horns.  DKR's Longhorns beat Johnny Vaught's Rebels that day.

I'd love to go, but we have commitments here at home that would keep us from making at least the first half. If something changes, we may go. My son (the freshman at UNT) is trying to get some buddies together for a road trip, so there is that. Rice Stadium is a great place to watch a football game, especially if the weather's cooperative and cool.

Booked my hotel this morning. All set to leave DFW southbound on I-45 Friday afternoon. I'll call the ticket office later this week to see what the plans are for this weekend.

How do you go about getting tickets? Where do the visitor fans usually sit?

Call the UNT ticket office for seats with other UNT faithful.     Walk up to the gate for tickets on the home 50 yard line about 10 rows up because there will hardly be anyone there.

Here's how to get tickets to any football game.

Contact one of the team's playing ticket office.  If there are any tickets available, the ticket office is called that for a reason.

102?  I remember being in 111 or 112 two years ago.

That's what the Ticket Office told me on the phone this afternoon when I bought my ticket.

So we have to move students from behind the bench, but the MOB gets to sit behind the visitor bench...

(mostly intended a smart alec shot at CUSA)

We had to move students from being directly behind the bench. CUSA actually wanted those entire sections cleared but a former AD fought for what we have today.

I agree.  Rice bench side (west) doesn't make sense, especially since they are telling us to enter parking at entrances 17 and 18, which are on the visitor's (east) side.

It's so strange for me to see an actual seating chart for Rice. Back in the day, the MOB and the Rice students sat behind the Rice bench, the visitors' "section" was the entire visitors' side of the field, and Rice fans just sat wherever they wanted.

The tickets I bought are section 113 row 17.  I'm sorry to say that I didn't purchase through the UNT ticket office.  I'm taking my 3 kids and $45 a pop was cost prohibitive.   (The tickets I purchased through Stub Hub were only $12 a piece. $180 total vs much better seats at $48 total, I couldn't pass up. )
