Winning with players those players in the Horizon and winning with those players here is not the same thing, but I hope he can make it work by adding a handful of other players he may have connections with.

It’s crazy how fast we went from my post on December 5 thinking we would lose 25 games this year to people thinking Coach Robinson will get scooped up by a bigger program. What a difference 7 weeks makes. A good lesson for myself to never throw dirt on a season in early December.
user1 and myself talked about it tonight. It’s definitely possible that a program in the Missouri Valley or Atlantic 10 could see that he successfully led CSU through 2 rebuilds in 3 years, won 21+ games each year and want to hire him. Of course, that assumes CSU finishes this year strong with a very difficult last 9 games of conference play.
Jerrod Calhoun of YSU won 21, 24 and 19 games the 3 years before Utah State hired him, which is probably similar to the number Robinson will have after this year.
If you’re Coach Robinson, if you get an offer from a Missouri Valley type conference team, I think you would seriously have to consider taking the job with all of the huge financial issues CSU is having. Obviously, the university won’t be committing any additional money to any athletic teams. He may have concerns that they may even slash his own budget for assistant coaches or recruiting. Robinson also knows that the college sports world is shifting to one where NIL or universities paying players directly will basically become a requirement to remain competitive, and he would rightly feel that CSU will never be able to offer that.
If CSU finishes this season in the top 2 in the conference and we end with 20+ wins again, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Robinson took a new job.
