This was a really bad day. Army beating anyone by 52 points is not a real good sign for your conference, as well as FIU losing to a team that many believed were as bad as us in the early preseason polls. The conference is Just very down right now...

Maybe we can reap the benefits.

That Army game is looking less and less winnable.

Army is 3-0 and has Buffalo, Duke and Lafayette left before they play.  They will crush Buffalo (lost to Albany) and Lafayette.  They will have a great shot at Duke.  Duke has not beat a FBS team yet and they have Notre Dame and Virginia up next.

They will probably be 5-1 if not 6-0 when we play them.

Earlier this year, I went thru two different G5 rankings to assess the best G5 conferences, based on overall average of the rankings of the teams in each league. The SBC was last, followed by CUSA, then the MAC. So far, this year, Marshall got pole axed by Akron, UTEP and Rice have been crushed by Army, USM got beat by Troy, and FIU lost to the team that many figured was one of the three worst in the country, UMass.

From what I've seen so far, La Tech should walk away with CUSA West, just because the other teams aren't very good in the division, although USM is better than they showed tonight. And I guess MUTS and WKU are the teams to beat out East. But overall, the conference seems way down compared to seasons past.

It could have been worse, CUSA won a couple.  The entire state of Mississippi went 0-10 on Saturday:

Alcorn State lost to University of Arkansas - Pine Bluff: 43-45
Belhaven lost to Huntingdon College: 21-65
Delta State University lost to University of West Georgia: 24-34
Jackson State lost to Grambling State: 14-35
Millsaps lost to University of Chicago: 16-35
Mississippi College lost to West Alabama: 13-38
Mississippi State lost to LSU: 20-23
Mississippi Valley lost to Texas Southern: 0-31
Ole Miss lost to Alabama: 43-48
Southern Mississippi lost to Troy: 31-37
