Defense made us proud. Tons of fight. Hit wasn't dirty. Lots of HOMER calls, but that is to be expected with the SEC. They are untouchable. Just ask them...

I think we learned a lot about this team in this game. They have heart. Sure the offense has a bit to learn, but we didn't give those guys an inch. From there alone you can build a program.

Fine took a hit to the knee against BCC and a flag was thrown. It's not at all unusual for a penalty to be called when a player hits a QB too low or too high.

Del Rio was being tended to on the field. McElwain came out all the way past the gator at midfield and was screaming at the UNT sideline. This caused players on both teams to surge onto the field as refs tried to keep them back.

Littrell came out onto the field maybe 20 feet alongside his players and yelled something back at him. It looked to me like he thought McElwain was being an idiot.

After the game the coaches shook hands and embraced, and McElwain held the hug a long time while he talked in Littrell's ear. Littrell didn't say much back. It looked like McElwain was doing all the explaining. Or asking him out. It was an uncomfortably long hug. I had flashbacks to slow dancing with Laura Dumais to Journey's "Open Arms" at Apollo Junior High School in 1982. Shuffle, step, shuffle, step, shuffle, step.

There should be a punishment for a coach who comes so far onto the field and nearly incites a bench-clearing brawl.

Throwing this in at the end makes it seem like his comments were riddled with sarcasm.   Sounds like he's trying to take the high road, but it's hard for him.  Sounds like they knew the SMU QB was injured in our game against them and were therefore hypersensitive that we might play dirty going into it.

He intentionally went low because that's all he could do. He knew he couldn't get to the QB cleanly so he lunged as he was already kind of low.

He didn't intentionally mean to hurt him. It's just part of the game. 

It is a somewhat dirty play. You don't go for the legs like that. 

But it's time to move on and stop wasting time on this.

Just saw the highlight replay. I don't see it.  Wheeler was clearly committed to the tackle and mid-air before the ball was thrown/released.

Their most delusional fans have now discovered that Wheeler also put SMU's Davis out of the game, so he must be the among the dirtiest players that ever played.   No matter there is nothing that proves he had any intent to do anything but tackle the QB.  

This was all started by an irresponsible coach that from his view probably saw little and while trying to back away from his reckless allegation mentioned that this has happened in other NT games.   

It is beyond me how anybody could watch that play and conclude that Wheeler was trying to injure the QB.   Yet, many Florida mind reading fans have come to the conclusion.

The refs calling the penalty caused the problem. The hit was 100% legal. Then Coach Butter Tooth coming out onto the field escalated the situation.  he should be fined by the NCAA for pulling that B.S.........
