You want proof winning helps recruiting? Look at Houston, Ed Oliver is the highest rated signee to sign with a G5 EVER. He also is Dominating in Cincinnati. I'm impressed.

Dominated against OU too. Will be interesting to see what Littrell first big recruit is. Also find it interesting that Oliver is a defensive 5 star player that committed to a school known for its offense.

FWIW, his older brother is also a current UH player.

He was big enough recruit he could have gone anywhere he wanted.

This explains at least 50% of the reason why he landed at UH.  I am sure his brother played a key role in his recruitment.

This guy is great to watch. Many 5 star and 4 star players don't make it at P5 schools and their careers end up derailing a few years into their college careers. Hopefully he can set the example that you don't need to only go to the select few P5s that land these guys to be successful. You can go to a G5, be an immediate starter, and make an immediate impact while garnering national attention.

Let's be honest though, Houston is not just another G5.  Heck, they're likely about to be a P5 school by next year.    UNT has a long way to go before we get to Houston's level.

I agree 100% regarding Houston's status although a 5 star defensive tackle would dominate at UNT just the same, if not more, considering the overall talent level he would be facing. It might be more difficult for a 4 star offensive skill player to make an impact if the rest of the team is not up to par.

A lot of the recent sucess of UH still involved

1. upgrades on campus... Athletics and others areas.  And

2. the big time booster Tillman Fertitta to even attract and pay Tom Herman.

3. An Administration that wants to be successful in athletics.

UH was already a decent team and winning.  StIil did not have the fan support and recruits until they stepped up the money.
