I kind of agree. No I completely agree. Over 8 wins a year stretched over a 10 year span would do this athletic program and more importantly this university wonders.

Unfortunately, UNT is not in a position to keep Littrell if he were to start up this kind of run.   We would need to hope that his replacement could continue the success, i.e: Boise's run with Nutt, Koetter, Hawkins, Peterson, & Harsin.

Yes, but UNT won't have the athletes Texas A&M has around it's QBs.

We didn't either when DIckey ran a ground and pound.

Preface: I like the ground and pound.  #AllRunningBacksMatter But you said it, we don't have SEC/B12 athletes.  Speed is everywhere, but only the big boys get lots of guys with speed AND size.  We saw with Dickey ball what happens when you try and out muscle those guys.  Simply getting to the redzone was an abnomality.

Since G5s don't have size AND speed across their 2 deeps, offenses like Litrell's and Leach's are popular because they allow creative ways to maximize the speed/space element.  TTech and A&M, to my young memory, were practically irrelevant before they hired Leach and Co.  The only way those guys ever won titles was when OU/TX/LSU/Bama were very very down.  Did they (Leach) get titles? No, but they were competing and in the national spotlight.

Prioritize defense, then compliment with the offense that suits your personnel/situation.  Oh, and don't forget STs.
