Few things jump out at me.

D getting the job done on 3rd down.

LBs leading the team in tackles, much rather see that than DBs.

Yards per carry was excellent.

Love the rushing offense. BC made it difficult to throw.

Rush defense was very solid. Take out the 83 yarder at the end against the twos, and its 31 carries for 74 yards.

I love how disciplined this team it thus far. No stupid penalties in the game

Lot of work to be done in the passing game but this whole season is dedicated to working and building.  

I think BC was a decent test.  They had some good athletes on that squad.  If we did not have such a brutal CUSA schedule I would think 5 wins could be achieved if we improve the passing game which we will.

I'm still interested to see how we do once we face QBs who can actually hurt us through the air. Davis was not good through the air, especially outside those downfield heaves. He was not good in the intermediate passing game, and Brihm was awful last night.

The pass rush looks good, but we really have not had to worry about an accurate QB when bringing pressure. If we can hold up there then we have the makings of a pretty good defense.

And they still would have had two, possibly three, passing TDs last night if their wideouts hadn't of flat out dropped passes.

I cannot make up my mind whether BC was a decent test. Yes physically they were good, very likely not the worst team we will face all season. But they also have some pretty big flaws, most of which I think have to do with bad coaching. In the discipline and field position department this team is likely worse than what we will face the rest of the season. They evidently have no kicker or punter they trust one bit, as evidenced by declining a penalty when having a semi-shanked punt or going for it on fourth repeatedly in usually obvious FG kicking situations. More importantly they kept shooting themselves in the foot with penalties in all kinds of situations, and their WR had loads of drops to bail us out if we were ever in need of it. Those kinds of gifts are not likely to come in this abundance from opponents such as UTSA or Rice

This game went about as well as could be hoped for. But I am very cautious about giving it too much value.

The game could have been much much closer.  Glad to get the win.  Hopefully it builds confidence, but when they see the tape I think they will realize they were fortunate to not be in a much closer game.
