Since so many seem to know so little about our next opponent

Bethune-Cookman (BC) is a private HBCU located in Daytona Beach.  Their total enrollment is around 4,000 which is roughly half of the enrollment of the NT graduate school.  Their football program plays at the NCAA Division 1 FCS level, and they are a member of the MEAC.

The 2010s have been a good decade for the program, winning the MEAC title every year except one.  They have averaged 9 wins a year this decade.   They are returning a total of 17 starters from last years 9-2 program.    Last season they averaged 34.1 PPG.    The deepest part of their team is probably the WR corp, where several P5 transfers give them real explosive pop.

They are breaking in a new QB this year, but he can  run and has a good deep ball.

For the most part this is an experienced team and they should be a handful for the Mean Green.   North Texas should win, but they are much stronger than the Texas Southern squad NT rolled a few years ago.

Side note: They are affiliated with the United Methodist Church, so hopefully we can even our season record against that particular denomination this Saturday.

Thanks, Cerebus, for researching. This confirms what I've been saying...they will not be intimidated and they are winners. Because they are FCS doesn't mean this team is not capable of whipping our asses. We had a lesson in that about 11 months ago...did ya'll not take notes?

The have established themselves as the place that many Florida D1 multistar HS recruits transfer to after it doesn't work out at their original P5 choice.  As an FCS school they have the bonus of D1 players being able to transfer and play right away without having to sit a year.  Very similar to the way NDSU has built themselves up as the transfer destination of choice, but seriously are you going to transfer to Fargo North Dakota or Daytona Beach if you are a 19-20 year old kid originally from Florida?
