In our defensive struggles....3 is always better than 7. Give up 40 yards in this scenario and I can breathe a sigh of relief. Give up 46 and it's 7 points. There's another thread on here floating around that show the safeties out of position. Clearly. So, yes, they were out of position. Davis was the only one sort of in position to make a play. And trust me when I tell you, I know football more than you would think.

If I had to guess, the two LBs were there to keep Davis from making a 20-30 yard scramble and getting them into FG range.
