Disappointing that Morris didn't man up and attend the post game press conference. As a fifth year senior, he should know the QB needs to show leadership and be accountable for his performance.

We don't know the circumstances of why Morris was a no show. Hopefully there is a valid reason other than not wanting to face the music. If that was the reason then I would hope the players "hold him accountable" this week. He is a captain and he needs to act like it.

Needs to act like it with his play as well. It's great he hopped up after being hit throughout the game. I can honestly only call 1 hit on him being the OL fault. It was an A gap blitz and they guy came untouched and spun Morris to the ground. Morris does a lot of patting of the ball and even more shuffling of his feet. I get it, he's knocking rust off. But that must be better. His deep ball has to get better. It kept him on the bench at Bama, it very well may reintroduce him to it here.

The blitz gave us problems all night. The good thing is there is A LOT of film to look at regarding blitz protection. The most confounding part was that when they showed blitz, they came with it. They didn't disguise it much and it still worked. Morris has to work on his internal clock. He held on to the ball and waited on plays to develop rather than going through his progression and either throwing the ball or tucking it and getting out of there. The good thing is that these problems are all coachable. I feel good about BC and our chances this week. It will do a world of good for everyone's confidence if we can go into our BB game at Florida with a 1-1 record.

Who didn't think our football team had a long way to go BEFORE the SMU game?  I haven't met that person, but he's mentioned in every Vito article.

I'll simplify this again 14 Juco's (11 made it), new coaching staff, new defensive scheme, moved from 90% run to 90% pass offensive, been less than a year = struggle for ALL of 2016.

Still excited, I just have to accept this year for what it is going to be - a struggle.

We are talking about SMU coming off a 2-10 season demolishing us at home and making me consider leaving before halftime despite all the game day experience upgrades.  We lost 34-13 at SMU last year with all our problems.   So we didn't lose ground but the late touchdown in this years game gives a false sense of progress in my opinion.  Effort is not progress it is the minimum.
