If your legs are in shape and you get there early enough you can park free at the lot across from Clark.

This is not true. Parking & Transportation changed regulations this year and enforcement of all lots is 24/7 even during weekends and events. If you don't have a permit, you need to look towards Fouts.

Somebody needs to update the tailgating page on meangreensports.com then:

General public parking is available in the Fouts Field lots for a nominal fee, and free parking is available on the east side of North Texas Boulevard.

I did notice you can purchase and print a visitor parking permit online through the parking and transportation department.  Not sure of the cost and where that enables you to park.

Between this and the east side of the red/blue lot now being reserved for RVs only, parking is getting more challenging.  This may dilute Wren's post game survey.

I don't believe this is true. The parking regulation policy does not seem to state exactly which days permits are enforced, other than when UNT is open, but it does state in one place 

• "These spaces are enforced from 7:00am to 10:00pm, Monday – Friday. "

• You can always check the signs at each lot but it should be free on weekends, other than Fouts.

edit, I found this picture, it is not clear if this includes the weekends!

Per the Gameday email sent to the campus community yesterday:

"Parking for the game will be available in the game day lots at Fouts Field and Victory Hall. A map showing the game day lots (orange stripes with green footballs) can be found here.

 

To accommodate game day traffic, all vehicles must be out of Fouts Field and Victory Hall parking lots; Mean Green Village lots 71 and 77; and the lots on the south side of Santa Fe Square and Traditions Halls by 6 a.m. on Sept. 3 (Saturday). Towing will start at that time for all vehicles remaining.

 

Towed vehicles will be taken to lot 36 (behind the Highland Street Garage). Game day towing citations are $125, and that amount will need to be paid at the Parking Services Office in order for the vehicle to be released. 

 

Resident permit holders who move from these lots may choose to park their vehicles in Eagle permit lots starting at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 2 (Friday). See the map of parking lots here."

 

Essentially, you can park in any Eagle lots (I.e., that one across from Clark) if and only if you possess a valid permit to do so. that can include a Visitors Permit bought and printed online.

 

Believe me when I say as a University staff member that you will get ticketed if you are found parked in any lot without a valid permit.

Like you said earlier, this must be brand-new and maybe something that can be undone by Baker/Smatresk.  It was never a problem 2011-2015 and was convenient for those who  were able to hoof it a bit around the Super Pit.

Speaking of parking, anyone else have a blue lot permit that only had directions to the black lot on the back?  fail

I have family coming up 35 from Dallas. They usually park at Fouts and walk over the pedestrian bridge. What is the exit situation from 35 now? Is it well-marked? Will they be able to get there? Chris' map link does not show exits/traffic flows.

Inquiring minds want to know.

Just spoke with someone in the parking office. He said they are now enforcing parking permit on the weekends as well. This is new this year but makes little sense other than to squeeze a few more cents out of people visiting campus. I am mainly think on none-game days here when visitors or other functions are held at UNT such as events for kids etc.

It will likely just lead to those events no longer being held  on campus and thus a loose of revenue and expose of UNT to parents and potential students.

No, but my RED permit had directions to BLACK on the back!

Tier 1 athletics cost money.  Expect things to go up by quite a bit.
