I flew out to Miami from Honduras for the FIU game to start the Mac Era. Still too burned from that disaster to predict a win for this one. :(

First meaningful game action in 5 years for the most important player on the field for us.

Keep in mind that the defense he went against in practice and on scout team was likely better than any we will face this year sans Florida.

It all depends on if we can contain their QB. If we contain Davis, we win 35-28

If we cant.....And this pains me....we lose 42-35.

This Defense needs to step up and make big plays and our O-line has got to keep Morris off the Turf

GO GREEN OR GO HOME!!!! F the Phonies

Agreed but practice and games are vastly different animals. I hope I am wrong on my prediction but my fear is I am calling it too close. It's just a reflection on how deep of a whole the past staff placed us in and not a reflection on the current staff.

Very true.

1920s Carnival Barkers' team - 27

How many different uniforms does the brigade have? SMU has over 30 combinations :D

Anyway, my prediction:

SMU: 1

UNT: 0

Going for the Rouge point.

If you count the mismatched hot weather shorts, then thousands.

Touché. Can't beat large scale permutations like that.

Ironic that SMU's is a small group of non music major volunteers and UNT is a large group from what I remember. Good volume from the green band.

The Green Brigade is a marching band. A singular entity. The carnival barker uniform is a singular entity. The 30 variations of your uniform are not a singular entity. They are 30 singular entities, thus the quantity. We don't have 30 variations of the Green Brigade.

I preferred wearing new combinations of uniforms over the same pieces each week. It made it feel different than High School Band but to each their own. One set means less crap to manage. I had to manage several jackets, pants, ties, etc.

'Sup @malonish

To be further accurate, the Green Brigade has about half a dozen full sets, but will only ever deploy the one for a season. Major uniform manufacturers like DeMoulin, Fruhauf and Stanbury will constantly send the Wind Studies faculty and staff variations of prototype uniforms to test and pass judgment over. UNT Wind Studies is kind of a gatekeeper to all sorts of things like that nationally.

Thanks for the info. Mustang Band is independent from the school music program (and majors not encouraged to join) so they don't have that Man keeping them down. Pepper in a few majors but mostly engineering students in my day.

30?  Why?  Oh, that's right, you're "The best dressed band in the Land".  So, looking good is more important than sounding good.*

Do you still play "Sunrise, Sunset"?  Y'all have been playing that since at least 1980.  Worst choice of music for a marching band, ever.  Maybe you could book some Bar Mitzvahs in the off-season.

* But you still look like a bunch of Carnival Barkers!
