Sunny with a high of 90 degrees and a 10% chance of showers.

Could be a lot worse.

still a long way out, so...

Nothing could be worse than the the smoooo game in 2014. Saying it was oppressive does not do it justice. So if it is 90 degrees in the shade at kick off I will take that without hesitation.

Let's turn this into a prior game weather thread.

My worst experience was the Ohio Monsoon game. Steady rain throughout and a gut punch, 4th and 17 TD on the last play in OT for the loss.

My worst was the UTSA loss in 2013. Being born and raised in TX, I don't do well with the cold. 35 degrees Fahrenheit or so. From historical data I've gathered, mean wind speed was just above 16 mph. Cold, dry, and windy. Could have been worst but I think the loss made it that much worst.

Don't forget, we had a roughing the passer penalty on the play which moved the conversion attempt to the 1.5 yard line. They elected to go for two and converted with ease on a play-action QB rollout.

That is the day that we discovered my wife has Raynaud's syndrome.  The lack of blood flow to a limb of the body.  Her fingers lost all blood flow and we now know where the medical room is at the stadium.

jesus... this game encapsulated the entire Dodge period...

winning winning winning winning... find a way to lose before the buzzer...

on a lighter note... don't forget the monsoon when Lance Dunbar ran for about a mile against the Blue Raider defense.

But I watched that from the comfort and dryness of the hub club. Ohio game is one of the reasons I decided to purchase club seats.

I'm not familiar with the condition but I hope it's not too serious (manageable).

Ohio could have attempted that 2 point conversion from the 10 and they would have made it 10 out of 10 times.

After that TD, that team was beat.

The Ohio game would be my worst weather game experience, too--mostly because of the ending.  Probably the worst weather I've watched a game in would've been the game against Western Kentucky in 2007.  Game time temp was in the mid-high 30s, but had a constant freezing rain with high winds.  I went fully geared up in snow skiing gear along with 3 friends---2 of which were in jeans and a coat.  Needless to say, they were soaking wet and freezing by halftime.  We were down 20-7 and our only score was on a blocked punt return.  It looked like yet another miserable loss, so we left only to have the Mean Green comeback for the win.

I have been a season ticket holder since 2001 and have missed only a handful of games over the years, yet I somehow managed to miss all (3!) of Todd Dodge's home wins (2 for immediate family weddings and the other was this game that I was at, but left!).

I experienced that one....  the nutt kick at the end wasn't much fun.  We've got this We've got this....  ugh, we don't got this...

Worst weather experience...   can't remember the year, but a sleet/freezing rain experience for a Western KY game...  during the Dodge era was without a doubt my worst UNT football weather experience.  I believe we ended up winning that one, but I left at halftime cause we were a bunch of p's.  We were on the hospitality porch?  thing?  and we left at the half and listened at my buddy's house while playing cards...indoors....

This was the one. I cannot think of another game that was worse in terms of weather. We left at the half as well. Just an absolute miserable game to attend.

That SMU game is probably the worst I felt at a game.

In the cold (football) weather you can wear more clothes and bring a blanket. In the hot weather, well there's only so much you can take off before you're escorted out.

I too prefer the cold weather experience....HOWEVER, this one was special.  not cold enough for the rain to freeze totally and the wind would pierce you by itself that day.

So we were wet and extremely extremely extremely cold.  I would have needed a full body rain suit with full ski gear below that.  I didn't have that kind of gear on for sure.

In Dodge's first two seasons, we couldn't beat anybody that had a modcum of talent/coaching at the FBS level. Then, in year 3, it looks like we have the makings of turnaround, except that we literally gave away games at the end against Ohio, Florida Atlantic, ULL, FIU, Army, and Arkansas State, all losses by a touchdown or less.

It was then that I realized that a bad team doesn't have to always get crushed to be awful...that can literally take losses from the jaws of victory against anybody, road or home.

I still cannot believe Dodge got that 4th season to come back, but I guess the money wasn't there or the university's leadership just refused to buy out an extra $300k to get rid of him. Thank goodness Dodge rewarded us with a 1-6 start in 2010 before getting finally fired.

This. I prefer the cold weather game, but it was about 33 degrees and a rain/sleet mix that didn't stop. I was wearing about 8 layers and was still cold. I had a full rain suit, but still got wet and the wind was brutal. This game is the exception.

So, would you prefer 28 and snow or ice, or 38 and rain?

The worst I've ever been to was NT vs a Bobby Collins coached Southern Mississippi team in 1981 or 1982.  It wasn't too cold as I recall but it rained and rained and rained.  Like driving through a car wash rain.  There were about 7 people in the stands.  I've taken showers and been dryer.

Everything seems set for a wonderful opening game.  I'm sure it will storm.

That Arkansas St game was not winnable at the end. Take that one off the list. From mid 4th quarter on, the offense never touched the ball when they were down only one score.

But I agree about being very close that year. If we beat Ohio, I think that year turns out very differently.

This WKU game was EASILY worse than the Ohio game, though not too many people would know it because I think the Green Brigade may have outnumbered the fans in attendance.   Constant precipitation with temps barely above freezing.  Others missed the bench clearing brawl at the end of the game.  That was the first ever football match up between UNT and WKU as I recall.

All said, here's a nice gut punch video from the Ohio game:

GIF-Agree-I-agree-Have-to-agree-GIF.gif?

I didn't think I'd ever get my wife back out to a game after that. We had ponchos on but they did no good. I was sick that we lost that game in double OT because we had just beaten a Ball State team that had gone 12-2 the prior year(they ended up sucking in '09 without Brady Hoke but at the time I had high hopes for us).

I say it was a no catch. I don't think he had possession before his feet left the ground but hey, I'm a homer.

Give me the WK game, Hands Down.  I remember my Dad and myself standing on the Mean Green Club Deck with a few of our closest friends (including Johnny Jones).  By the end of the game i swear there couldn't have been more than 250 people left in the stadium including the two teams, equipment staffs, band, and fans.

give me the 28 and snow or ice.  38 and rain is almost impossible to stay warm because you can't stay dry.
