Bullshit.

Total Bullshit.

Hahaha, I forgot The Tomato burning didn't happen.

I'll see myself out.

Forever my favorite/saddest memory of a night on Fry.   I was proud of my drunken ramblings from a Nokia cellphone that aired on WBAP the next morning...but Fry Proper effectively ended that night.

I think the Fry area is kind of an interesting area now. It's a mishmash of college bars, beer spots, local restaurants, chains, apartments, condos, etc. I really don't mind it. I prefer the Denton "scene" to be Downtown anyway.

I mean old Fry was cool and fascinating to a young teenager who had just gotten his drivers license, and was a cultural hotspot...it was also kinda...gross. Interestingly enough there are a still a lot of sketchy apartments on Fry. Admittedly, I wasn't in college during the Fry years and never experienced the stuff like Fry Street Fair, etc. It was just the Tomato and Fry Rats with a bunch of bars when I first fell in love with the town. Past the glory days anyway. I mean back then the Square was a ghost town.

I will say though, I really hope that they don't tear down the Voertmann's complex to build another mega student complex. I like the mix of new and old (renovated old). It gives the area an interesting vibe.

Downtown is possibly the coolest area I've ever experienced. I've lived and visited most of the big city attractions. Downtown Denton is something special. You can be out on the Square at 4am playing music, there will be lots of people out, and nobody will bother you. There is ALWAYS something to get into. It's amazing.

i like the idea of this series... just wish they would have started out with a different coach... someone who has been here a while and can offer more on their thoughts on Denton during the interview... Would have been great for Hedlund... or even Smastrek

I want to say thanks. But that was a huge blow to my nostalgia. Even the Corkscrew is gone. Que sera, sera.

Memories of the Gravity Room.  I remember seeing Solinger there a bunch.  Looks like they put apartments where the side parking lot used to be.  They used to do outdoor shows in that lot periodically.
