No Tauaala in there.

EDIT:    Also, Sid Moore looking more the part now.   Maybe he'll be a contributor this season.

EDIT AGAIN:   Do y'all remember when Malik Dilonga came in his Freshman year looking like JoJo Ozougwu?  Hopefully JoJo bulks up like Malik has.

Jareid Combs just tweeted this:

All(or most) of the D-line, plus Kevin Dillman. There something about that they're not telling us?

Lighter Offensive lineman are not as much of a problem in Littrell's Air Raid as it would be in Mac's Run-To-Boredom offense. Air Raid will use wider splits(although UNC didn't seem to use the 1 to 1/2 yard splits that Leach tends to use. This however could have been a function of Fedora's influence) which will need the Lineman to be better(read quicker) in space especially on a combo blocking play or when they provide help on a defender. Can anybody that has been to practice confirm the splits and whether they are closer to Leach or Fedora.

True, but 260 lb. lineman are light regardless of what system you run.  The Air Raid typically employs tall, rangy lineman that are well over 300 lbs.

Ya, I was kind of joking.  I assumed that was just our AD being diligent as always.  Somehow that doesn't jump off the page to any of them, but any of us spot it in a second (unless of course he was actually moved to RB!)

Those lineman back when Leach (and Littrell, Mainord, Davis, etc.) were at Texas Tech were massive and played with enormous splits.

True.  Of course, Leach inherited a massive O-line.  IIRC, when Spike Dykes was there, they had the biggest line in all of football--including the NFL.

I thought it might be true since he is never even mentioned in the QB depth chart (behind Morris, Fine, O'Hara, Shanbour, and possibly even Mitch Cason) but it seems like he'd be even further down the RB chart. He will never touch the field as a quarterback for NT and has 3 years to play. He needs to find someplace where he might have an outside shot at playing time.

Wow, I just realized we had 7 quarterbacks on our roster last year with only 1 senior. That would leave 6 to be eligible this year and none of those 6 appear to be in the 3 deep and only 1 is still listed as a quarterback. I think that shows just how bad the quarterback play has been here since DT graduated.

I remember Dave Cambell's mentioning this.

I believe there was a comment at one point that both Means and Chumley were moved to TE, but as we have seeen, he is listed at RB on the roster.  Not sure if it is a mistake or not.  Maybe we have the next Stephen Jackson on our hands.

Air raid offenses need bigger lineman that take up more space. They're always back pedaling and working with their weight moving backwards. You need a huge body to impede a defensive lineman who's firing off the ball. Also, the wider splits & bigger lineman make the distance that much further to get to the QB (whose dropping back to pass 95% of the time) on the outside.  Smaller quicker lineman work better in run first offenses. They're firing off the ball at the point of attack. Check the service academies. Combo blocking is utilized in a lot run first offenses where one lineman has to slide off and get the linebacker to open up a running lane.

Bottom line, UNT  is going to pass a lot and need big lineman with long arms and quick feet.
