Ask TCU. They will tell you about it. Ask Boise St. They will tell you about it.

Small time thinking will keep this program small time. Stop leading the charge.

Of course I'm not talking about this year. I am talking about 3 or 4 years out. Always have been. If you believe in Littrell, you shouldn't have a problem with this.

So why are you arguing when you agree with me?

I'm not arguing with you. It's called dialogue.

To note...Boise's and TCU's big wins vs P5 opponents mostly, if not all, came in bowl games. They were matched up with these teams because they had/have quality programs, and not just 'a' defining win. They were their conferences powerhouse program that consistently took care of business within their conferences. We need this to happen far more than some win vs a P5 team. I don't want us to be Monroe. I want us to be a Boise or a TCU, and there is not 1 damn reason we can't be. This is not small time thinking. It's the fastest way to spring board this program.

We've gone over this.  BSU built up their program by beating everyone in a weak conference and loading up on FCS and low end G5 teams.  IF  we had done that in the Dickey years, instead of playing AT LEAST two P5 powers every year, then we would have built this thing to a new level.  Instead, we lazily paid for everything with those paycheck games.

I don't necessarily disagree, but our situation is also different from Boise and TCU. UNT is faced with having to legitimize UNT's football program with UNT alumni and students, many who view it as a joke. That's where we differ from Boise or TCU.

Playing a recognizable P5 at Apogee, win or lose, sends the message to alumni that you are serious about football for a change. Especially if you beat them.

I have zero problem cutting out the whore games and am hopeful that a real FBS AD will remedy the need for such through hard work and intelligence, something lacking in the last AD.

Everyone was just right there at one point or another.
