So the fact that they have to look for additional waivers and whatnot means the NCAA said "no".   This will need to be a top 5 football operations issue for WB when he officially takes over.   I'm sure he learned a thing or two about this type of scenario while at Mizzou & with Memphis b-ball.  All options should be exhausted.

EDIT: I still wouldn't hold my breath though.  Betting on a nice practice squad player to test our interior OL this season, and a nice addition to 2017's defensive line.

Did I mention that D Thompson was the HOD MVP?

Eric Capper will be sure you know that on Twitter, then hide behind his buddies.

This pretty clearly says that the request was denied. That being said I'm pretty sure they are pursuing a magenta shirt for English.

It doesn't say that clearly. It certainly isn't explicit.  But we can gather what it means through context clues.

Has UNT ever won ANTYHING from the NCAA?  Like ever?  I think the 2001 New Orleans Bowl with a losing record was it, right?  Actually, we really didn't even win that.  That's when the NCAA came in and made a rule to make sure it would never happen again, right?

Derek Thompson's 2010 medical redshirt, Roger Franklin's waiver to not sit out a year after transferring from Oklahoma State in 2011 come to mind. More so the latter, as Thompson's season-ending injury happened in the third game of the season, which is more of a defined rule than a discretionary call.

As for English, like UNT90 has said all along, they made a specific rule on this type of case. He should still get four seasons to play, that just starts next year.
