Yeah, I saw that with concern as well. I want him executing his vision ASAP.

Yes, but I hope and expect he is already here working.  He has been replaced at Missouri and I doubt he will be needed or wanted there.  The official date is somewhat puzzling, perhaps it has to do with the outdated policies of hiring state employees in Texas.

It would be NICE to have him on site ASAP but I don't think the timetable is unreasonable. Dudes, I moved 500 miles for a new job once. Had to sell a house, buy a house and pack up for the movers. Had a wife and two small children, just like him. Cut him some slack, I would like him to be focused and hit the ground running on August 22. JMHO.

As someone who has moved several times with no time off, it certainly can be done.  I nor probably anyone else expects him to not have adequate time to do his personal business and he is entitled to spend his time as he wishes until he is officially hired.

However, I expect few confronting the challenges of this job; are going to be content waiting 3 weeks to start.  As often as he has changed jobs, I suspect he and his family can expertly handle the transition.

I definitely agree with that. I suspect his phones, computer, and Skype have been/will be hot, wherever he is physically at the moment.

The Talons were telling me they've already met him and had some positive things to say.

MSo he's already starting to introduce himself to folks on campus.

Rick

While he was around, did he get to hear Boomer clear his throat?

Happy to hear that. Happy to hear he is taking it all on asap, that is encouraging.

That said, I am a bit afraid that some people will be expecting too much change too fast. It will take WB a moment to get to some of the stuff. Might be more than a moment. Cause there is a lot of stuff that needs improving. Not everybody will be agreeing with his priorities, no matter what they will be.

But gosh, there is much more hope now.

Hopefully a lot of the house cleaning will be done before he gets here.
