Looks solid on paper. In all honesty, at this point I'd be happy with Ronald McDonald as the AD with camp getting ready to kick off.

(Hopefully his scheduling philosophy is polar opposite of RV.)

I will admit to thinking I would have preferred Teague for having been the head man at AD long enough to see how his decisions turned out. But I can live well with Baker. Seems like an up and comer. Wonder if he can get his old boss to bring Baylor to play in Denton.

or that the last guy couldn't get because noone liked him and nobody was willing to throw him a bone.

We have a one for one with Memphis on the scheduled.

How about another?  Heck Memohis may be a B12 team by then...

I'm in for another series B12 of not.  Why not Cincy, an old MVC adversary as well as former bowl opponent?

Burnout will occur if they hit it hard doing their job...5 years ain't a bad thing....better than AD for life.

According to this story Wren Baker had a salary of $230,000 as of last summer as Missouri's Deputy AD.  For comparison, RV was in the $300k base salary range according to published reports.

Guess would be that we pay the new AD around $350,000 base plus an incentive plan to get total compensation north of the $400,000 clip.

A personal friend of mine who is on staff at Mizzou just notified me that he had a meeting scheduled with Mr. Baker today but it's been canceled.  He suspects it's due to an announcement that he's leaving.

I await final announcement.  Early breaking MGB stories had Fran (is that the right name) as the 100% for sure basketball head coach and Doug Meacham as the football coach.  I wasn't around, but I'd wager the MGB announced Jim Harbaugh as the football coach for the 2007 season too.

My faith lies in my perception that I don't see any dicking around or political capital hunting on this.
