Uh, do we know how much he was responsible for raising?

I believe he was very much responsible for raising funds at both Rogers and Northwest Missouri State, plus at Memphis and Missouri it sounds like he was in on a lot of fundraising efforts. I do not have have much more knowledge then that, I also love his background in basketball. Hope he can make us a mid-major power again,

What's the difference between an "interim" AD and an "acting" AD ?

And is "Wren" a nickname ?  For what ?

I've told all my friends that GMG would come up with the name of the new AD first.  Way to go.

Baker almost seems too good to be true...

Lower Level AD experience? Check

Fundraising in a tougher environment then NT? Check

Hiring successful, winning coaches? Check

Work his way up through a regional Athletic Department from a program (Memphis) that has been successful on a level NT can be successful at? Check

Work at a large P5 SEC school? Check.

Have regional ties (oklahoma)? Check

Young, energetic guy who dreams of nothing but being a D1 athletic director? Check

I really really  think that this would be a steal for North Texas. Make it happen BOR, and North Texas might finally wake up and be a player in college athletics.

I think you are on target here. Just a few more "checks" and we will have ourselves a new AD.  Oh man!  This is exciting.

In the video clip someone posted above, the host said that he was the main one in charge of fundraising at Memphis, and that he had procured a $10 million gift to athletics.

So, yeah . . . check.

Sounds like Wren Baker might be the new AD if my deductive reasoning is up to par

Well, this guy is pretty close to the Missouri sports scene and thinks Wren is the leading candidate.

Love how it is not going to be announced till Friday! Busted! Mean Green undercover in action!

Just need to avoid UofM deciding they want to keep him and throw money at him.  One plus is that they also have an interim president at the moment as well so they may hold off on hiring an AD until after the new president is hired.

We are eagles!  Big, majestic, predators of the air.  Why would we pick a wren to represent us?  $20 says this guy will have small bird syndrome.

I see KOMU has visited GMG today.

Any reporter who uses a message board as a source isn't a reporter.

We aren't his source.

He also mentioned at one point in the video that one of his best friends is an AD official at North Carolina...

Not to get overhyped and bought-in, but this one may be the guy.

Upon being appointed Interim AD at Missouri:

Nevertheless, Baker has no intention of being a placeholder.

“One thing I’m not made for is to sit in neutral or tread water,” he said. “I want to keep advancing forward. We had some key initiatives that we’ve been working on over the last 14 months that Mack started the ball rolling and developing.”

My only hope is that Baker's agent isn't floating his name out there to put pressure on Missouri to make his job permanent. He really seems to like Columbia

What a terribly cynical mindset.  It was my first thought too.

However the Mizzou chancellor just announce the AD search committee a few days ago.  They seem to be a long way off from making a decision.  Looks like Baker can either take the job offer in hand or wait to see what Mizzou does.  If he takes that risk then Teague probably gets the offer instead.

But this is a done deal, so he has already made the decision.
