got a call today from Brittany from NT ticket sales department (caller ID showed a Denton phone number). She was actually trying to get hold of my son who is a recent graduate inquiring if he was interested in buying season tickets. I told her that I was his father and that he now lives in Ft Worth and I would ask him about it or I could give her his phone number if she actually wanted to talk to him. She said she didn't know where Ft Worth was or how far it was from Denton, I asked "aren't you calling me from Denton? Ft Worth is about 30 miles south." She finally replied that she was calling from Atlanta and worked for a company that was contracted by NT for ticket sales. Not complaining, she was very nice and I appreciated the effort put forth. Just a question: is this something new or has the athletic department contracted out in the past?

Yes, it's new. A professional company hired to market for UNT. It's mentioned in a thread somewhere.

Question. Is that the first time in, oh, ever, any representative of UNT ticket office has tried to reach out to your son? The

He graduated 2 years ago & did buy season tickets his first year out. He didn't renew last season though. This is the first time that I know of that anyone has tried to contact him.

So which did she choose?  If the 2nd, was she able to talk him into buying season tickets?

She asked if I could give him her number if he was interested. I haven't talked to him yet but I doubt he will buy. He has a lot on his plate this fall including getting married. I have 4 tickets so he can always go with me.

Ticket office if you want help I will call some folks for a discounted rate. No need to pay people in another state that have nothing to do with damn UNT. Just silly.

Until there is much different leadership in the AD, yes, it is necessary.

Quality sales professional we have here.  She leaves the ball in his court by relying on one person to pass along her number to another person, so that person can call her.  Or, she could have written down his number when offered and made the call herself.  Sorry Brittany, you need to be fired.  And our Athletic Department wonders why our season ticket and MGC sales numbers suck.

Or maybe, just simply taught the right way to make a sale.  It might take 60 seconds.

Or fired.

Read a recent article that the Texas athletic department just terminated or did not renew the contract for the outside company responsible for Longwhorn football ticket sales.  They were responsible for $46 million in football ticket sales last year.......and they were fired!

i know, I know, we are not tu.. But we sure as hell should demand results!
