So it's a slow time of the year for UNT athletics and athletics in general.  However -if you follow UNT Athletics closely - there are some very positive signs.  First and foremost, it seems we finally have a President who cares.  Hiring is based on results, but clearly bringing in Seth Littrell and his quality group of assistants appears to be a huge step up.  We have discussed at length the positive move getting consultants Trip Kuehne and Michael Sicuro involved in the review of the AD and the positive things that will come from that.  Next, we have a new AD hire nearing which should have a tremendous impact on the direction and future of the program.  It has already been revealed that our coaches and facilities need attention and it seems that they are already making positive steps. Today we learn that a bonafide recruiting coordinator has been hired, and one who has some experience and pedigree.  This has been a glaring issue for many years now.

In this slow time of the year, it is easy to forget some of the moves being made by UNT Athletics.   It's always an easier road to point out the negatives of which will all know there have been many.  The proof will be in the pudding of course but I applaud them for clearly trying to right this ship. gmg

So quick question, What does a recruiting coordinator do? Break down film for coaches? or just someone that helps get the kids to campus for visits and other perks?

Recruiting coordinator does a TON. NOT including or limited to, video review, scheduling coaches and their stops on recruiting trips. Developing HS relationships. Setting up a board for coaches to evaluate future classes. Social media, etc

I know they meet with him regularly; not sure about the details of the report.  AD hiring is probably the main focus right now.

And until we know who that hire is, the title of this thread is kinda mute, no?
