I tried to warn the powers that be of this 25 years ago,..and again when Dallas Lee started pushing for it in '02 and '03.  That dumbass wanted it on our helmet.

Rick

Lee Jackson wanted to put a coffee mug with a semi-circle handle that says "UNT" on our helmet?

In other words, we should have changed the name to NTU, not UNT?

At least the radio station call letters would have been right!

As far as coffee cups and the inter webs go,..yes you are.

About 20 years back a few smart asses went around with their marks-a-littles on campus and did a number on signage and the sides of maintenance trucks etc.

Again, I tried to warn them.

it's funny. laugh.

what's not funny, however, is you taking a swipe at an American institution. Marks-A-Lot is a $1.2B a year industry...twice that if you include the black market...and it provides real American jobs, brief highs and hours of creative fun with a passed out buddy.

what have you ever done?

Can you even read?  He said marks-a-littles.   Stop making this about race.

WELL ACTUALLY.../bursts into thread...

None of you have come remotely close to getting this right. This is a product of the Avery Products Corporation, one of the world's leading manufacturers of printable labels, name badges, business cards, dividers and more, and markets products under the well-known Avery® brand. They are owned by CCL Industries Inc., a world leader in specialty label and packaging solutions for global corporations, small businesses and consumers. Among their board members is Stuart W. Lang and let me just quote his bio:

Quote

The principal occupations of Mr. Stuart Lang are that of Head Football Coach for Guelph University and that of corporate director. Prior to his retirement as an officer of the Company on January 31, 2006, Mr. Lang was President of CCL Label International, and was headquartered in England. Mr. Lang has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Queen’s University at Kingston, Ontario. Following a very successful early career with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League, Mr. Lang became involved in the Company in 1982, moving through positions of progressive responsibility and gaining depth of industry knowledge. As a result, Mr. Lang brings to the board wide experience in the technology, manufacturing and markets of the label industry as well as a thorough knowledge of the Label Division of the Company.

AD Material? POSSIBLY! But not if he sees these ignorant, thoughtless posts from the usual suspects. No wonder the search committee is keeping this hushed.

I have purchased and held in my hands the very mug in your signature.  I had to order it from England at some exorbitant exchange rate and horrendous shipping, but dammit, I got it.

I could have made you one with a blank mug and an Avery® Marks-A-Lot.

Can you trust a 'Queens University' located in 'Kingston'?  Sounds a bit hypocritical if you ask me.   May as well re-hire RV.

Getting into my wayback machine, I remember the first time I came to Dallas and saw cars with green "NUTS" stickers in the back windows. It wasn't until I happened to see one that hadn't been altered that I got it.

After the name change there was a tongue-in-cheek suggestion to change the call letters to KUNT.

We were calling it KUNT back in 1979... people probably started doing it as soon as they started broadcasting with those call letters.
