For once let's try something different, say,...hiring an AD from a successful smaller program who knows what it's like to have to get blood from a turnip?

And in an interesting note from a link in Vito's blog..

When ODU began redoing its campus master plan in 2012, and in the process began looking for a site for a new stadium, athletic officials said the stadium should seat at least 35,000.

Since then, officials have backed off, saying privately the stadium needs to be smaller.

Conference USA’s average attendance is 19,825, and ticket demand at ODU has waned the past two years as prices have risen and the team’s record has slipped. ODU’s final game last season did not sell out until minutes before game time.

The last thing ODU officials said they want is a stadium with empty seats.

Harnage has consistently said that a decision on the stadium’s size “will be driven by the data.”

By that, he means data collected by Populous Architects, the Kansas City firm that surveyed thousands of ODU fans and boosters in a 13-month study. His recommendations to the board will be based on the firm’s report.

Last thing you want are empty seats?  What?

We should ship them our empty Wing and they would likely fill it. It could easily pass for a Monarch, so we might as well put it to good use.

ODU's AD came from WKU.  ODU is already planning to leave the CUSA for the AAC. And to think they had no football team and their basketball rival was Philadelphia Textile when we were playing Louisville, Memphis, Cincinnati, etc.
