You would really think Pittsburgh should open up a QB competition between Rothlisberger & Gradkowski?   Rothlisberger has had several years to prove himself, and he has.  Hence, there's no QB competition there.

We don't have that luxury here at NT.  So we have to trust the coaches' evaluations.

Why would the job be handed to someone? what indicates that this will happen?

To me, Harrell's comments seem to indicate that Morris is the man, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's the final word on the subject. No telling what was said/promised before he transferred.

That's why I predict that it'll take till the third game for O'Hara to start.

I just don't want to become grad-transfer U permanently. I want us to grow a quality young quarterback similar to DT but better.

If it means we win a-la LATech, I don't care.   We're about to find out if having 2 years worth of grad transfers while Mullens developed works.

The QB grad transfer system has two parts.

!. A "viable" transfer who has previously demonstrated his QB skills, and

2. a coach who can quickly coach them to work in his system.

Keep in mind that  "quickly" was traditionally never a word used in association with QB development.

I can guarantee that NT will have a QB competition just like ever other position.

I find it difficult to believe that so many are upset about a QB decision that has not even been made at this point.  Why would anyone think that a new staff with an offense built around the QB, would overlook the best player at that position?

I agree, but it's temporary necessity when you have such glaring roster holes.

A couple of transitional years while you rebuild your roster through HS recruits and develop them to startable players is ok.

After that, you've got to demonstrate the ability to recruit and develop.

If we had baseball we could argue about that instead, but since we have nothing else to complain about...
