So, we could see some commitments come Sunday afternoon/Monday morning?

Like this comment from Littrell:

“I am not worried about early commits,” Littrell said. “I am worried about finding the right guys who can help us be successful, whether we get them in June or January. It’s important to get a true evaluation of kids and see who we want to continue to evaluate in their senior year.”

While I like the write up overall, I don't see why we state that local TCU is the "dream scholarship". In addition, discussing the recruiting battle between NT and SMU and only listing a SMU commit over NT. The reader might also like to see this article include a statement discussing a NT commit over SMU, especially when you are a sports writer for the DentonRC that specifically covers the Mean Green... IMO

They have some kids coming to these camps that our staff likes and that they are interested in. I wouldn't be surprised if we see some kids get offers depending on how well they do with the staff running our scheme and seeing how these kids fit in. I would hope to see a few commits but I wouldn't be shocked if we didn't since we are usually in these camps for 1 day then leave. Would of liked it to be a 2/3 day camp at each stop where the coaches could even sit down with these kids and put on the full-court press on them as a group, but our coaches have been out on the road the past few weeks visiting with guys so we may have the ground work laid out for some of them already.

Pure coach speak. He absolutely cares about early commitments, he just can't say so because the coach speak game dictates setting low expectations from the fan base in early recruiting.

Met the man, no he doesn't. He wants the kids HE wants here. Would he welcome early commit? Sure. But, he isn't going to fret over it.  He is different than the last few coaches we have had here.

      Finishing Out the '25 Class

      1. I have us at about 80 scholarship players. This count does not include Makenzie McGill who we almost assuredly need to put on scholarship to keep, and Evan Jackson who deleted his transfer portal post and hasn’t posted anything since. Also does not include high school commit Terrence Lewis who still seems in line to sign in February. That being said, we probably could sign a few more HS guys this February. We have space and likely will have more space after spring to bring in more portal guys this summer if needed. 2. Probably will have a better idea on this after spring when we have a better idea of where we still are weaker than we want to be. We have pretty good numbers at each position. 3. There definitely will be more transfers after spring but pure speculation on who. Larry Moore appears to be passed over at tackle, and I doubt he wants to spend his last season of eligibility on the bench. Same for VJ Bronson at DT. At safety I don’t expect Isheem Young to come back but I could be wrong. He came here because of Caponi and we seem to have been recruiting that position as if he isn’t coming back. BJ Allen at safety looks like he is in danger of getting passed up by multiple guys so he could be better off looking elsewhere for more playing time. I think Zach Evans is similarly buried on the depth chart. I‘d be surprised if any of those 5 guys were still here after spring. Those are 5 spots I pretty much expect to open up just based on guys who are sort of the odd men out at their spots, but looks like they’ll be here through spring to have a chance to carve out bigger roles.

      Many people on this board, constantly talk about competing with SMU. We should also pay attention to what TCU and other programs are doing, so we have a bar to set for ourselves. Ignoring the competition, gets us where we are now.

      Should we add Texas State to the AAC?

      These conference wishlists are fun to discuss but in no world should UNT share a conference with Tarleton State and SHSU in 2025 lol I’d love being in the PAC as long as some other AAC members follow as a package. That conference wouldn’t be as friendly regionally but there would definitely be more opportunities for national recognition in the PAC especially in basketball.
