So no ties to UNT.

Sorry, but I disagree.

I prefer someone WITH ties to UNT.  Doesn't mean he/she needs to be on campus now, but come on people.  In all your angst, you're going to pull an RV.  Cleaning house entirely is about the worst thing we could do.  That's what we did when we brought on Dodge and we ran off good people in the process.

No one FROM THE CURRENT AD should be considered FOR THE PERMANENT AD. Clear enough?

The new AD can make whatever personnel decisions he chooses. He will most likely change top management. And that's fine.

Maybe I'll fly a banner. You can contribute this time so your feelings won't be so hurt six months later...

EDIT: this was meant for Emmitt. No idea how AAUNT got quoted.

Was wondering why I was notified by Chris Wilkes that I got burned on the board while watching my 6th Grade nephews concert.

Funny thing is the banner part actually makes sense with your post, which was not intended to be quoted. At all.

This really cuts out alot of very qualified people and elevates alot of unqualified people.

Why?  It's very very common for Athletic Departments to be run by people with degrees from other institutions.

We just need the most qualified person to be hired.  I don't care if they are from Russia State.

I thought I might be the only one who felt that way about John Nitardy.    I am glad to know that others feel the same.

If your name isn't Reggie Johnson, and you try to call me about my club seats, my mgc donations, the weather, the condition of 35E, your favorite flavor of chewing gum, or how much you miss the beer cooler in Sack N' Save (RIP cooler of cheap shitty beer), I ain't taking your call.  Period.

Unfortunately, I don't think Reggie was necessarily tasked with dealing with club seats, so I would always have to call him.  Even though it wasn't his job, HE got shit done.  With a smile and a thank you.  Every time.  Without Reggie, I'd still be waiting for guest passes for the 2014 season.

I genuinely hope going forward that they get their shit fixed on the mean green club website so I can just do everything online, have a nice paper trail so nobody misappropriates my money, and I don't have to talk to anybody with saccharin smiles who looks down on me and calls me a dumbass behind my back or tells me I'm too inept to use a website to my face.

Preferring isn't the same thing as requiring.  I'm not cutting out anybody.  My #1 criteria would be the ability to identify good coaches and get them hired.  I'd love for that to be someone who is an actual alum of UNT or with ties here.  Again, it doesn't HAVE to be, but it seems a lot of these jokers are letting their anger cloud their judgment and going too far the other way---saying that they will only be satisfied if we clean house. That's a bad plan, IMPO.

I don't think it has to be anger if one thinks that the offices on Bonnie Brea need a good, deep cleaning.

I don't think you need a complete clean sweep, but I do think the new AD should be from outside the current AD team.

There is a strong push for Hank from the wine and cheese crowd.

More speculation or do you have proof?  Your idea that RV would ride out his contract because the Mythical 17 were his buddies was wrong.

Hire me, I'll fire every F'n last one of them. Then they can fire me and hire a real AD who can staff his people. Sounds like a good business model....

Not invented here (NIH) is a stance adopted by social, corporate, or institutional cultures that avoid using or buying already existing products, research, standards, or knowledge because of their external origins and costs.

The reasons for not wanting to use the work of others are varied, but some can include fear of patent infringement, lack of understanding of the foreign work, an unwillingness to acknowledge or value the work of others, jealousy or forming part of a wider turf war.[1]As a social phenomenon, this philosophy manifests as an unwillingness to adopt an idea or product because it originates from another culture, a form of tribalism.[2]

The term is normally used in a pejorative sense. The opposite predisposition is sometimes called "proudly found elsewhere" (PFE)[3] or "invented here".

We don't have the "right stuff" internally, folks. We must find the best solution on the market wherever we find it subject to a budget we can afford, IMHO.

Well we got what most of wanted but yet were are still negative.  Give the process a chance to play out.  We are already upset with the new AD and he is not even been hired.  Can we be positive for a week anyway?
