This kid is a monster and moves really good, he does have a bit to much forward lean when he blocks but that can be easily corrected.  He is 6'5" 280 lbs.  Could project at C or Guard for us.

UTSA, McNeese State, New Mexico, SFA, New Mexico State, and UNT.  We should be able to out recruit each one of these schools.

3 star OL from College Station. Has offers from UTSA, New Mexico, New Mexico State, and a few FCS schools. Welcome aboard Josh!

Congrats on the commitment Josh.  Welcome!

I am guessing this may have been the potential commit we heard about over the weekend.  Great to see us winning a recruit over a conference mate as well as MWC and SBC teams.

Hopefully the first of many!

Congratulations, Josh!

We need to make a living out of beating these schools on the recruiting trail.

Absolutely -- these are battles we lost with Mac.  Nice to be on the winning side of things.  Winds of change seem to be blowing. GMG!

I think they'll keep changing with this staff! Pray we keep paying them :)

He didn't have much difficulty getting players he wanted from New Mexico or NMSU. But he did lose too many players we wanted to UTSA. Got some too, like Goree and Chad Davis among others, but we should honestly own UTSA.

Tackles always get a little more press/acclaim than the interior guys, but adding a nice player for either guard or C is awesome.
Welcome aboard Josh.  Going to be some turnover on our interior line after this season, so you'll have an opportunity early.

Donovan is a legit 3-star-caliber kid and UNT's best commitment so far.

That said, Junius King is a good get, as is Tyreke Davis. Pearson is intriguing if he has time to develop.

What is your take on why King didn't have any other FBS offers? That has a been a hot question since he committed.

Only knocks I've heard about Davis are mental.   Skills for days.  Hopefully now that he has his college education lined up, he'll put it together and become a leader.

You might have that backwards. If Tyreke has a knock it's that he isn't likely to get any bigger and he's had a little bit of injury issues last season.

You are off base on the leadership/mental part.

I have also heard that the knock on Davis is his maturity, but what 17 year old is mature?  I find it hard to believe someone thinks he has hit his physical peak prior to his senior year.

Let's just say my source has seen his leadership up close for a few seasons.

Also, physical peak or size? They aren't the same thing...

Physical maturity and size should not peak at the age of 17.

Most males are finished growing (height) by 17 or 18.

Its not unusual for them to continue to fill out. The bigger the frame the more weight they can add and most males to do not reach their athletic peak until well after they finish growing.
