+8 and in 9th place after day 1...top 6 advance...stanford is leading the way at -14....uc riverside is in 6th at E...churchman leading our guys at -2 (tied for 10th individually)

In any case, still in 9th place after most of day five. Individually, Cory Churchman is currently tiedd for second and in the running for making it as an individual, should the team not make it.

Other teams have played less hole holes. Most teams are playing at above par, so they might slightly move up the board as the other teams play more holes, but the difference to the group that is on spots 4th to 8th is significant (6 to 11 shots).   UAB is in third right now, La Tech is 12th.

oh... and those wondering where SMU is... they are banned from the post season in golf for the cheating that happened until 2014.....

you're right...low 5 and the low individual not on those teams advance...churchman needs to hold that spot

Team tied for 9th and Churchman fell to 10th.  

We are playing two juniors, a sophmore and two freshmen.  There are no seniors on the entire team so we should be in good shape moving forward.

Church man had a bogey on each of his last 4 holes...hurts, but he is only 3 shots behind the leader that would advance...he has been fabulous!  I know the team is young, but the other 4 really let the team down with their scores...

playing with uc riverside and georgia tech...off to a quick start, -3, but probably too far back (15 shots at the moment)

finished 11th out of 14...may drop to 12th...currently 49 shots out of first....stanford is -26....churchman had a terrible day and fell out of contention for qualification for the finals.  good season for the boys...they will be back!

At 10th now, but won't move up any higher.  Good season by a young team.  Look for improvement next year.

in the end they were about 2 shots/player/round behind qualifying for the final tournament. That is significant, but for a young team it is also not unimaginable that they could improve that much in the next season or two.

And then there is always the variability in Golf that can help (or hurt) you, as long as you buy a ticket to the regionals lottery. Number 24 Oregon was a whopping 70 shots better than number 25 North Carolina. That can just happen in golf. If they keep qualifying for the regionals every year, eventually they will make the finals.
