Oops!  Meant to put this on the basketball thread.

"The Blue Raiders will travel to Oxford, Miss. to play the Rebels on Nov. 30, MTSU head coach Kermit Davis told The Daily News Journal.

The Rebels will return to Murfreesboro in 2017 and both teams will meet at Bridgestone Arena in 2018. The series will end in Oxford in 2019, Davis said.

“It’s been a really good series for us in the past,” Davis said. “(Ole Miss head coach) Andy Kennedy and I talked about restarting the series and everybody is looking for some really good RPI games.....

Seems like others can get it done.  Why not North Texas?

Maybe because Moby Rick is in charge, and he hates any Eagle that is not Golden?

Here's the even more sad part about this from our perspective--MUTS will be competitive with and probably win at least once in that series with Ole Miss. If we scheduled a team like Ole Miss right now, with two games in Oxford, one in Denton, and one in Dallas, there is no way we would come close to even winning one of those.

But thank God we kept Tony Benford for a 5th season!! I'm sure that he will finally get it figured out enough this upcoming year to earn he and his boss a well-earned contract extension!!

Why so hard on Benford? He only has one more 20 loss season than he has conference tournament wins...

Batting .500 on those: 2-for-4.
For perspective: JJ had 1 20-loss season in his 11 years at the helm.

If this happens I will forever banish anything UNT Athletics from my life!  Period.  And.........I will gather up the few things I have accumulated over 45+ years of following athletics(brochures, articles, pictures, old media guides), pack them, and ship them to our Athletic Director For Life, RV.

Then I'll start following the Texas Longwhornes.  That's right, I said it........Texas Longwhorns!  Blasphemy, I know.  But I will have been completely "exorcised" of all things UNT.
