'17 OL Marvis Brown (Tyler JC)

6'5" 305 lbs plays OT.  Holds offers from Arkansas State, UNT, and Prairie View A&M

He is scheduled to be a December graduate. 

 

At one point he was committed to SMU in HS. He had a lot of interest but no one was pulling the trigger for whatever reason (quick search he was offered by Jones staff and decided to re-open his recruitment).  He was a 3 star grade on espn out of HS.

I would project an Ark State commitment based on what I see on his twitter. Took an OV there. Offered by New Mexico recently.

Wonder if we are still after him?  I would love to know how many commitments we are looking at for each position.

I'd take him.. Being a Dec grad. means he could be here for the spring and they can rotate/move him around to find where he would be best and could depth if anything letting the younger guys time to develop.. But not a solid list but I'll take it plus Wheeler I would assume knows him so that could be a good sign as well

So this kid chose Arkansas State over Southern Miss, North Texas etc... hmmm

Is this really true?  And if so why?  Or perhaps did the others offer and later pull their offer?  This is the type of stuff that I always wonder about in terms of recruiting and what the real story is behind it.   When I try to find out more detail it appears the Rivals site wants me to pay a subscription so who knows.

Maybe it's just me but there seems to be more to the story here.

The Red Wolves won 8 games this year including a bowl win over UCF. Why not Ark State over that particular offer list? What makes you think there's more to it Harry?

Arkst had a very UNT circa early 2000's season.  I believe they were 0-5 to start the season.  Must be a belt thing.
