I don't know if any of you guys have ever heard of the term "F@#k You Money" but Georgia displayed this FU money during their Spring Game.

Georgia pays Ludacris $65,000 for 15-minute show during spring game

$65,000 for 15 minutes? Thats more than $4,333 a minute for a washed up rapper/actor.

They likely made every cent back in concessions/merch sales when 93k fans showed up for that spring game.

Seriously, a down vote? Personally it's a free education worth at least 7 figures over a lifetime with food, shelter, Healthcare, social networking and development and work cloths provided in addition to COA. But wait, that not all. They also get close to world class vocational skills training, to include health/life coaching (strength, nutrition, etc.), a professional networking environment with coaches, AD and alumni for drafting and free agency as well as post football employment and they get millions of dollars of free marketing of their skills to showcase on TV and bowl games with free travel. If this exploitation is too grievous, they can reject the scholarship (they are not legally required to accept an offer or stay with a team if they do), hire their own trainers and handlers and go interview (combine) and get the $ they "deserve".

We surely don't have to pay for music at our spring game (practice) do we? Wouldn't that be kinda like a supermodel having to pay for sex?

Okay, let's make this simple by illustrating with a practical exercise. My proposition is it is the university, yours the players. Does a university loose all the fans, season ticket holders and merchandise sales every 4 years when a class of players graduates, thus, necessitating new fans, sales, etc. be aquired because there are new players?

Athens, GA was the launch pad for R.E.M. and The B-52's among others and they hire Ludacris.   That would be like us passing over Denton Bands to hire Creed to play.

Yeah, that's called marketing. Something that is forbidden at North Texas.

And you know what, Creed would probably sellout Apogee to watch the Spring Game. A denton band would bring an additional nobody unless it was bowling for soup, etc. Marketing works marvelous wonders. Here at North Texas, our administration thinks that our 1-11 football team is going to sell itself.
