Typically once you go wide splits you don't go back except for some specialty packages like goal line/short yardage.

Ah good to know (there's a clever never go back joke in there somewhere).

Add in the fact that the guys on the team were built to play the polar opposite type of offense that Littrell runs, just like Dodge's was to the Dickster. We saw how well that went. But in Littrell's defense, he has actual college coaches to work with, as opposed to the mostly high school coaches that Dodge brought over in 2007.

Poor Alec Morris will probably get killed, if past experiences teach us anything about this offense in its first year under a new coach.

Every coach on the offensive staff has run this offense at the college level. Couple that with the fact the Morris is a solid 230-240, and Vizza was maybe 180 pounds soaking wet in '07.

Plus the Air Raid is different than the offense Dodge ran. Call me optimistic, but I think Morris has a shot to be one of the top QB's in the conference this season

The situation is opposite of what you stated.  The kids here now (Macs kids) were recruited to play the opposite type of offense than what they played in high school.   No high school in Texas runs the ground and pound .   I haven't seen anything similar to that in years. (Well now that I said that, Brock comes to mind)  Probably 80% of the HS teams in Texas now run some form of the spread. May not run it very well, but they do it.
