So driving a little drunk is fine, just as long as your not too drunk?

If he was under the influence at the time they also would have charged him with that.  This is more like driving around with a keg in his trunk.

Considering how Marijauna is illegal in the state of Texas no matter what amount. So driving a little drunk is fine, just as long as your not too drunk?

I don't care how much he had in his possession, he's breaking the law and needs to be punished accordingly.

Considering officer discretion is used every minute of every day in this country and you obviously don't work in law enforcement. I would suggest your academic, non real world, black and white interpretation of how laws are enforced aren't realistic. The criminal justice system doesn't have time for this nonsense and this idea has bipartisan support amoung people who know what goes on in the real world.

That said, I hope you get a ticket tomorrow for 61 in a 60 because it's the law.

Actually, officer discretion is a dying thing. For issuing tickets? Yes, but that's only because Texas law demands that it's officer discretion. If current day police administrations had their way, all officer discretion would be a thing of the past.

No officer can destroy evidence anymore, even if it's done with the best intentions. Because it's on camera. And they will be disciplined.

I am fully aware of officer discretion and know a lot more than what you think I do about "The World of Law Enforcement" but Drugs are drugs and those are against the law. If we are in Colorado he would of been fine but we are in the great state of Texas where Marijuana is illegal. If he had a six pack and was under age, yeah, discretion but drugs? NA. Im sorry you are an angry person and hate the world.

If you are an officer, thank you for your constant support and protection of our neighborhoods and I drive a GMC Pick up truck up and down 35 all the time. I will keep it at 61 and just wait to see if you pull me over. If you do, will it suck, yes but i will sign the ticket and pay it.

Sadly, a byproduct of filming every interaction that police have with the public is the inability for officers to police (use good judgement on certain situations) anymore. And not because this was a football player.

Old school is he would trade info for that amount of dope being dumped. Info on dealers or other criminal activity (yes, if you are smoking weed, more times than not you possess this info). That is what policing used to be about. If you did that on camera and destroyed the marihuana, your own agency would discipline you for destroying evidence.

True story.

Never thought about it that way, but you're right. Seems like it would lower officer discretion.

"Im sorry you are an angry person and hate the world." So is this the internet tough guy version of nanna nanna boo boo? Not sure where illustrating your lack of experience is angry but that's cool. Your sophomoric response is noted and funny.

Oh, and I'm not a cop, not everyone in law enforcement is a cop. I still hope you get a ticket though.

Don't the players have to pass drug tests and don't they know they will be tested ?  Perhaps the tests should be called intelligence tests.

Usually depends on the players. It's suppose to be random but when I had a friend playing it was "randomly" the walk on players the coaches knew weren't smoking

mmm...ya...just the right balance of self-righteousness and piety...with the subtle soupcon of assigning blame to police-reform efforts.

you guys all remember your reactions when John Schelleci was drinking underage on a fake ID and ran from the cops?
