Everett Withers pulled the scholarship offer from Buda Hays QB recruit Braeden Kent(2 star).  It's a sad story, and a real bad PR nightmare for Texas State.  Kent had no other offers.  His parents attended and met at Tx State, and one or two of his siblings attend Texas State.  He had a knee injury his Senior year, but in January was promised by Withers he/Texas state would honor the scholarship offer.  This will not go well for Texas State.

I saw Hays play Boerne Champion this year and as I recall Kent had a pretty good game, though to be honest Champion played pretty awful.  It's pretty big news down here.  I would say it might be worth taking him just for the goodwill, but I don't know that getting a pipeline to Buda is that big of a deal.  Also, the last injured Hays player we signed didn't turn out so well.

Buda Hays head coach is Blake Feldt, former Pilot Point head coach. Father of former UNT players Cam and Boone Feldt, who both barely saw the field after never quite 100% recovering after injuries.

Blake Feldt has been gone from Buda for several years, he is now the head Coach at Odessa Permian .

I would rather have the big DE McWhorter (sp?) from Graham TX.

Remember McWhorter was committed to the Mean Green for months prior to LOI day.

Coach Mac never offered McWhorter a scholarship so McWhorter signed with Texas State.
