I just got it.  It's 7:19 Tuesday evening.  I got the invitation and the Denton event is at the North Texas Fair Grounds.  What ???  We spend $78 mil (thanks Bret Vito) and we host a Denton football promotion event at the Fairgrounds ?   With a built-in bar and PA system and cool video and a beautiful view of the playing field and we have this thing at the Fairgrounds ?

I must be missing an obvious glitch here.  Help me please.

And by the way, how do we spell "Coach showing possession " ?  I though there should be an aspostrophe and no"es."  Am I wrong ?

Joe, I looked at mine (received today also) and have this to offer. Since there will be more than one Coach on this tour, Coaches' would seem to me to be the correct treatment of the possessive case in the context it was used on the card. Further affiant sayeth not.

I've never been to the Denton Coaches Show, how full has the event been in the past? Given the possible increased interest with the new Football Coach, I suspect the Athletic Department feels there will be more people attending than in the past.  Sure would suck for late comers if they held it at the stadium and people have to be turned away because of the fire code prohibiting the number of people allowed.

This is comical.

My understanding is that they are trying to make it more of a family friendly and laid back event with bounce houses and what not.

Also, is it a caravan of coaches or a caravan owned by a single coach?  There are definitely multiple coaches at this thing, so regardless the "es" should stay.   If you are saying the caravan belongs to the coaches, it would be "Coaches' Caravan."  I couldn't care less.

Why?  Vito stated in a recent blog entry that a record number of Lettermen attended to hear Littrell speak in Dallas recently.  I realize you will do and say anything to degrade the program because of your infatuation with RV and the administration, but this is a distinct possibility.

The club level is a huge place. To suggest that more people will come to the club level for coach speak than for an actual football game is comical and, actually, dilusional at this point in this program's existence.

I've been to the caravan in good years. I know how many people showed up when there was hope in both the football AND basketball program. To suggest there will be lines outside a stuffed club level is insanity.

I just don't get it.  From almost any angle.

Apogee is best for the Athletic Dept staff

Apogee has good up close, paved parking

Apogee has clean assessable restrooms

Apogee is easy to find

Apogee has a good AV system

Apogee has a bar ready to serve

There are some that still haven't been to Apogee

It is always a good idea to bring prospects to the location of what is being sold (ie; If you want to sell a house, bring your customer to the house)

We (North Texas Athletics) don't have to rent Apogee

Apogee and especially the Club level is weather proof

We have always had the Fairgrounds.  I don't recall any event held there even during the Fouts Field decades

Somebody might want to renew or join the Mean Green Club or buy season tickets

Somebody might want to buy a Mean Green cap, assuming the Mean Green Spirit store could also be open

There is no horse poop at Apogee

Apogee is the home to University of North Texas Football

The fairgrounds seems like an appropriate place to hear from RV and Tony Benford--anywhere near the area where any of the animals drop their waste would fit perfectly

Oh, I think the fair grounds are appropriate for another reason. RV is the ultimate carnie, after all:

Via what means did this invitation arrive?

Postcard, 7" X 5". Nice desert highway picture on one side, all the vital info in a font so small you will need your magnifier on the other. I got two because I must be in their system twice...one was addressed to my full name and one to my nickname. I'm not bitching about this, just giving you a full report in answer to your question.

Coach's caravan last year was packed, and the meet and greet for Littrell this year was even more packed. Don't really see many kids at these events (I don't bring my 3 year old bc shes a picky eater, go figure), but I may bring her for this.

There's just no room in that clubhouse. It's a nice clubhouse, but small.

I've only been to the fairgrounds once, and it's, uh, ugly.
