Excited about a lot of what I'm hearing about the approach the defensive staff has taken thus far. It must be a somewhat delicate effort to foster a supportive environment while simultaneously retraining the players that the previous standards/expectations will no longer cut it.  They seem to have communicated to the players that the role of the staff is to find, develop, and maximize the strengths of the players.  We saw during peak Skladany exactly how valuable it can be when a defensive unit is in sync with the defensive staff.

Let's hope that's the foundation being built here.

Jareid Combs isn't far off. Also Calvin Minor in the OLB roll at 6'3" 213 is a really nice size for that roll.  Could he use another 10-15 lbs? Sure, but when I watch that nickel/ bandit player go through drills he ALWAYS stands out as the most explosive.  Looks like he, Preston, schilleci, and a few others are working out there.
