4 years with 1 good season is not enough to determine how good a head coach is. There's absolutely zero reason to believe that singular good season isn't an outlier. The sample size is just too small. Based on these first two seasons at UNT, I think it's more than fair to question his ability to build and sustain a winning program.
I agree I'd like to see where those schools get the dollars to buy out 3-year's worth of head coach salary.
It's time for G5 programs to go to 2-3 year head coaching contracts max. If the guy is really good he will leave anyway for a P4 job. If he's really bad you want him gone, and if he has potential then add extensions as needed...but not Seth type extensions...so be careful!
