Ok fair points to be made in the irony of Teflon being in the car after issuing so many of his default-driven "Husbands and Fathers" speeches.  Much like Mac's "Love him and Cherish him and let him date my daughter" types of speeches... so I get it.

BUT....

In regards to the above mentioned comment.... who do you love more?  Me or him?  Who would you take with you into an alley full of Mike Stojkovics?  A decision needs to be made here.

Let's think in terms of husbands and fathers.

I love you like a husband. We're peers, partners, and our relationship is based on a mutual respect and trust that we'll support each other through whatever life throws our way.

I love him like a father. Inherently selfless, with optimism and hope that he'll live up to all his wonderful potential and accomplish more in this crazy, scary world that we ever did, maybe in part because of the sacrifices we made to give him that opportunity.

Now, let's grab a few drinks, strap @ChristopherRyanWilkes in the carseat, and hit the road to infamy!

It's a good thing Todd isn't being brought up on charges related to this.  He'd have no defense.

It's not a golf cart plan, or an SUV plan. It's a driving plan.

I wish Vito would spend his talent and time commenting on NT athletics.  IMO, there was absolutely no reason to put this in a NT blog.

The Dodge family is long gone, so I tend to agree with that thought. Since he is closely related to NT athletics, I doubt that Vito would appreciate it much if someone were to dig around and post some dirt found out there in his own backyard. I guess this is just another example of the cold and often cruel "nothing is private" world that we live in nowadays.

So so true.  This board has never sunk so low as to report the every move of the Dodge family

Guys, can we wait until more info comes out to pass judgment? Just in general, not just with this situation. Is it not possible he had a couple drinks with the family at dinner and then perhaps got distracted (maybe by the kid) and the two aren't necessarily correlated? It's hard to believe his dad would let him drive if he thought he was totally wasted. Maybe he was buzzed driving, which is still wrong, but we don't have all the facts. I mean, at least wait until the BAC comes out. If it's questionable or even .08 they may drop the charge altogether. Just hold your horses before we start questioning him being a bad parent. He's still Mean Green and deserves for us to at least wait until more information comes out.

Spot on brother.  Fact is just a couple of drinks with dinner might put you over the legal limit. Accidents happen and very well had nothing to do with the drinks he had. So without all the facts I would say what happened to Riley could have happened to so many on this board.  He had three other adults/ family members with him.  How bad could he have been? Until we know more I would be careful to judge.

There is a big part of me that sees any trials and tribulations coming the way of the perfect husbands and fathers Dodge family and enjoys some serious lulz.

The more rational part of me, however, if the Dodge side of this story is correct, points to the absurd levels some laws have been taken.  I would argue that the vast, vast majority of people on this board are guilty of worse after any given UNT football game.

RV will probably get another extension for being able to tell the BOR that he made the important decision to get rid of the Dodges because they were a threat to our university's safety...

I don't know what really happened here, but speaking from experience, driving a vehicle with your in-laws/parents + wife + screaming baby all as passengers is as close to hell on earth as I've ever been.  Maybe he swerved wide because he was going pull over to dish out some whoopings?

"I swear, if you all don't shut up, I am going to pull this car over!"

I had no idea Brett graduated from UTSA!

Three years ago.

And his head is a different color than his hands.

And it looks like, according to his sash, he graduated with the help of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.

Are you trying to say Vito lied about his background? I thought he said somewhere he was part 'Mexian'...

Legal question, how do you get charged with dwi without having a BAC test result? Why not just dui?

You're charged based on being intoxicated, not the level of intoxication.  In Texas, DUI is for minors who are operating a motor vehicle or a watercraft with and detectable amount of alcohol in their system.

He hit a pole. Still sounds super weird. Could Todd not drive?

The pole must have been outside the 20.

Jokes are fair game. Especially anything Dodge related. I guess I'm just seeing it through the lense of someone who has interned for a criminal defense firm. People tend to jump to conclusions on things like this and it ruins people's reputation. I just think it's harsh to call out someone's parenting (in a non-joking manner) before facts come out. Speaking to the usual suspects here, not my fellow non-serious brethren.

So, NOW we're choosing to wait and not jump to conclusions and ruin people's reputations?  Can I get an outline of when it's ok to jump to conclusions, and when we're supposed to wait?

You're charged based on the officer's report, such as "he said he had a couple drinks at dinner." Once blood tests come out they can a subquently drop those charges. No outline, but this one was suspect from the onset.
