I don't know about most of you guys; but I am certainly looking forward to starting new with the coaching staff and players that want to be part of a "New Beginning"  With all the hate rhetoric on this board, I would like to start a conversation about what is positive going forward.  I for one am thrilled that Morris transferred over.  My wife is a BAMA alumnus, and we have season tickets for them as well.  We can only make a couple of games per year....because going to the UNT games is certainly a priority...plus travel is an issue....  I have watched Morris in a couple of Spring games(A-day games), and a few mop-up scenarios, and he is the real deal!!!  Granted, we don't have the same level of talent around him, but I am betting we have some fun on offense this year.  Defensively, if we are not playing from 21 down all the time, we should be able to stand our ground pretty good.  There are some that won't come to the games, but I hope that everybody that reads this comes to at least 1 more game this year than last year, and bring a friend.....I suspect you will be surprised!!!

GMG - Hope to see you all at the Wingspan Gala next month as well.....

I, for one, am glad I didn't waste any time or money for homecoming last year.

You might be surprised, but surprises aren't always good things.

If you feel I violated the rules for the board, report the post.

If your position is so weak that you feel the need to attempt to drown out a counter point, then that says a lot.

Sorry, not sorry I violated your "safe space".

it must really suck to be you....

Explain how my position is "so weak"?  I am just trying to add a little up side to this board.  Explain to me what was weak about my position?  I would prefer you keep your vile on a thread that merits it....

I think every thread merits it at this point.

I wish you the best in your battle on defending positions such as (but not limited to):

  • Buying Season Tickets
  • Mean Green Club donations
  • Talking about anything positive regarding the university, whether it be athletics or academics

You will certainly get more up votes for being negative than positive.

these folks live in a really dark place with so much hate in their lives.....wish I could help them see a little sunshine in life.  Beats touting negatives all the time....  I bet I could turn them right side up over a couple of beers or coffee....they just need to look at things from a different perspective...

Are you at least coming to the Wingspan Gala now that you have extra money from selling your tickets?  Don't forget to support your University

Nope. My interest is athletics. If UNT runs everything like it runs athletics, I have zero interest in providing any support.

Pres. Smatresk has shirked his responsibilities where athletics are concerned. That's what I pay attention to. That leads me to believe he shirks his responsibilities with other departments. If you want to believe athletics is the only place this occurs, more power to you, but I believe bad managers don't just manage one thing badly, they manage everything badly. This has become my opinion of Neal Smatresk.

If you really feel the need to try to silence an opposing or counter viewpoint then you must feel you have a weak position. If you have a strong position then you should never try to silence the opposing point, let the position speak for itself.

You can also identify a weak argument if the one making it feels they must resort to personal attacks.

Your "positives" earlier were a softball team under .500 in conference play and a track and field team that finished 4th in conference.

There is nothing to be positive about right now in UNT athletics. The coach that destroyed basketball is allowed another year's pay because an athletic director that destroyed major program athletics has to save face to be GIVEN another years pay.

But ya, nothing to see here, move along. Great approach.

Can you tell me what in my original post you are against?  you jump in with HC?  You are just attacking a positive msg "just because"  Nothing behind it...just because....I really feel sorry for you.  I wish I could help you with your anger problems

No, I made a comment that not all surprises are good ones. I was addressing your comment "I suspect you will be surprised!!!"

I think you are projecting anger issues since pretty much every post (except the first) has included some personal slight, insult, or attack.

Good for you! Maybe next year we get you and the guy buying the tickets back!

Doubtful any additional club seat sales will result from this deal.

When supposed allies start attacking each other it's supposed to mean that we've hit bottom, so could this possibly be a good omen for the future? Ah, probably not.

Apparently every thread has to be like ever other thread, a bashing of the NT status quo.

I too, am very interested to see what Littrell can accomplish.  He has quite a challenge, but that is why he was hired.  I think the returning talent level is better than what they showed last year (small praise) and it doesn't take a major overhaul to be competitive in CUSA.  The beauty of a pass happy offense is that a team can win games even with lesser talent if the QB gets hot.

I don't expect miracles, but I think there is a good chance that NT is a lot more competitive than most predict, maybe a few unexpected wins.

I would add that the team had to have known of the impending Mac firing before kickoff at the Portland State game. Everyone else did. That is the only reason I can see as to why they collapsed and embarrassed themselves so badly
