He looked to be a couple inches shorter than McNulty.  I would put him at 5-10 - 5-11.

He is basically a 3 year older, 30lb heavier version of Fine. He did not have as good of a junior and senior season, but he put up pretty big numbers also.

I am counting on Morris to win the job, but I would not be surprised to learn that Shanbour is better than the three we rolled out there last season.

Somehow this guy #2 made a nice career for himself as a quarterback despite being the height of Shanbour.

Any direction we take that is different from last year is a good direction.

All I've ever wanted out of the previous coaching staff was a fair treatment and fair assessment of all their QB candidates, regardless of how they may or may not fit into a certain size parameter. All I care about is "can this guy (or guys) find a way to get the job done"?  Obviously the previous coaching staff didn't think anyone was a viable candidate unless they were 6' or over, or were from Iowa. And they didn't try and see if the skill set(s) that the candidates DID HAVE (like being able to actually get rid of the ball quickly and to various receivers) could be adapted to their system.

Obviously the signing of Fine tells me that (potentially) the new coaching staff is just looking for someone who can get the job done, and that they are not worried (at least not too much) about physical parameters. And how they seem to rank their current QB candidates, (pre-spring practice), tells me the same thing.

This is going to be interesting.

I remember watching at least one spring practice during the Dickey era when a guy name Fitzgerald made some pretty spectacular catches. Come fall he disappeared. Along comes Coach Dodge and guess what happens.....a star is born. One has to wonder what "could have been" for Mr. Fitzgerald if he had gotten a better assessment by coaching staff a year or two earlier.
