Wins.  We need wins.  We don't need concerts, we don't need Alabama playing in Apogee.

But what if I told you there was a way to do both?

I'm shocked at how much you no longer care.  Shocked I tell you.

You should be shocked that I give the bare minimum that I have to, that I'm looking to hold on to club seats for one more year without incurring any personal expense and that I will openly discourage anyone from a commitment to this program as long as Rick Villarreal sits on the AD chair.

You are shocked by the wrong things, my friend. And that doesn't shock me.

Clinton won the presidency in 1992 on one simple line.  "It's the economy, stupid."

Well, I'm running on a single platform for 2016 and beyond -- "It's the win/loss column, stupid!"

Everything else is us (yours truly included) channeling years of loss fatigue on to everything we can find.

And to clarify, I was neither sold concerts as part of purchasing club tickets nor do I see ever attending a concert at Apogee.  I don't think it's the AD's responsibility to book concerts there.  I do think the university at large is missing out on a huge opportunity with the venue though.

Management is important. I don't think we see another bowl game with RV as AD. Littrell has a HUGE task in front of him and no experience from which to draw to help him figure out how to handle the most dysfunctional situation in FBS athletics.

If he isn't an extremely quick learner who can solve the many problems so many before couldn't, this will be just another in a long list of names that Fly and Kram can blame once they have left UNT.

Finding problems for every solution...it is what you do so well.  Now that you no longer care of course.  You show how much you don't care by posting multiple times a day with the same theme.   Interesting concept.  How's it working out for you so far?

There have been zero solutions, Mark, and you are still firmly behind and make excuses for the guy that provides ZERO answers.

Ever.

Enjoy your club sports team while the rest of the real college football playing world points and laughs at the dysfunction that is UNT athletics.

Wow...  as a fan of another school who only follows UNT a little, I know some but not all of the RV stuff.  I just read his bio on the UNT sports website.  Based on that, I don't know why you complain.  ?

"Rick Villarreal has established his place as one of the most progressive and successful athletics administrators in the nation."

"He is also responsible for creating the organizational foundation for a department that has seen unprecedented academic and competitive success during his tenure."

"an administrator who can raise money, build facilities, direct championship teams with quality coaches "

"Villarreal led the Mean Green to a premiere position in the Sun Belt Conference"

"The ultimate recognition of Villarreal's success was realized when Conference USA announced that North Texas would be joining the flourishing league beginning in the fall of 2013. The undeniable achievement that Villarreal led North Texas to in the Sun Belt Conference was a critical factor in making the department and the university as a whole attractive to other leagues. "

That's quite an enhanced bio.

What you don't realize is that isn't a bio, that's a resume.

And how many other places have come a calling?

Zero.

That should tell the Fly's and KRAM's of te world something, but they are too manipulated to get it.

Touche. If they're gonna play in Texas, they gotta have some pageantry in the band.

I've heard a couple of those songs many times. I'm surprised to see the guy driving around in a Benz in that one video. In today's time you wouldn't see a country music video without a 4x4 lifted truck on 50" mudders sloshing a wide path to his Rocky Mountain Jean wearing girl...

You need to step away from Nashville, my friend...

The most blatant lie in the that "bio/resume" was led us to the top of the Sun Belt.  Umm, I think Darell Dickey was in the middle of his undefeated run in the Sun Belt when RV arrive.  Using that logic to create a bio/resume Barry Switzer can claim he put the finishing touches on the Dallas Cowboys early 90s dynasty.  SMH

No, DD's run started after RV arrived.  How much credit RV deserves for it is another matter, but he was at UNT for the entire run.

RV was already here when we started our Sun Belt streak.

According to the Mean Green Sport Bio RV arrive in April 2001.  Most of the players and coaches responsible for that run were already in place when RV arrived.  Once the recruiting class that did not have the "benefit of RV's charismatic" leadership were all gone the team tanked.  So analyze it anyway you want it.  Give his credit for not wrecking it immediately and letting it tank.  DD gets a huge portion of the blame. But seeing all the garbage since he left it is hard to blame him for having a pissy attitude working under RV.

Yep, and for those who hated DD by the time he left, maybe you backed the wrong horse? Maybe you believed the slick talking liar who filled your head with big ideas while accomplishing very little.

I get so tired of hearing how Rick Villarreal built this and but that. Fact of the matter is those buildings get built or UNT drops down to FCS. That wasn't ever going to happen only 10 years after moving back up to FBS. That would be the UNT BOR admitting failure. They may care little about athletics, but they do care about the perception of the BOR.

So, UNT could either keep up or go back to FCS. The Hattiesburg Hustler was simply in the right place at the right time to take advantage. And con a bunch of people along the way. Even then, he screwed up the first stadium vote, delaying new facilities by 8-10 years.
