What's the likelihood of a private school kid going to UNT for football? Unless we post an above average 2016 season, I can't imagine us getting many of these kids this time around. Sort of like the Southlake kid who turned down a scholarship offer to UNT to be a regular student at A$M several years ago.

It's obvious the staff is jumping on QB recruiting for this class. I could see this staff pushing for an early commitment at QB, especially if they find a kid they like who is an early enrollee. With Morris and Smith set to graduate, an early enrollee could really have a great shot at winning the starting job next spring.

Still lives in McKinney.  Great kid!  I know he visited UNC a few times last year.  I'm sure he and Littrell already had a relationship working.  He is a great athlete with a nice arm.

Quick release and a strong arm.  I hope we can land one of these young men early in the process.  Improvement on the field is crucial this year.

Billy, is there an average or usual number of offers extended for a class?

It really depends on the school and what type of class, big or small, they're expecting. it's usually anywhere between 100 and 200.

I did a post last year at the end of April on how many offers schools across CUSA had given out. By April 28th last year Old Dominion had given out 130 offers for the class of 2016, which led the conference. Rice and UTSA had given out just 5, and we had given out 35. Here's the post.

Hope we could land 1 or 2 of these kids, but I figure that won't happen till the fall, since the HS kids will most likely wanna try showing off during the summer one last time.. But Great seeing he staff going after kids that look like they can spin it!

Traditionally it's been late summer, July or early August. Yeah, give them that last summer to go to camps and see all the dominoes falling as most P5 classes lock up their QB commits.
