Vito, you're quite aggressive in this article. I like it.

We agree 100% on recruiting rankings, they matter and I think 24/7 composite is the best system that has come out on that front. It takes out outliers and just ranks recruits average rating from all sites. We really need to move up on that ranking tomorrow.

Am I the only one who has ZERO doubt that, while he technically writes to inform "everyone", Vito writes directly at GMG?

Please, RV, give the guy a parking pass so I don't have to read about how swell DT was or just how crazy our (few) die-hards are anymore.  You can give it to him at the next quarterly meeting.

If Littrell is smart he will get that parking pass handled...

I got Vito a parking pass months ago guys.

I got sick of hearing about it on here and everywhere else.

That's awesome.

But, if you think that anyone is going to stop making parking pass jokes just because that situation is in the past... Well, either you haven't called me, or I haven't called you.

The new KRAM?

Question. No answer.

Also goddamn, Vito just straight laying people on here out.

That's how you have to talk to the extremely hard-headed-juiced-up-on-green-kool-aid on here. These ARE the same people who expected the next Johnny Manzel to sign this year with UNT simply because UNT hired an unknown OC from UNC.

And you will see some on here tomorrow do the very things Vito mentions in his article.

They simply can't help themselves.

Dang.  I think he has a very specific, very knowledgeable person in his crosshairs:

rankings matter.

It’s a PROVEN FACT that in fact RECRUITING RANKINGS matter and MATTER A LOT.

There will be people who will claim no matter what happens tomorrow that the rankings don’t matter because of one of a few reasons … 1. My coach is smarter than your coach; 2. I found a one in a hundred example of when the rankings weren’t right about this one player one time; 3. I made up this really nifty theory of my own that makes me smarter than hundreds of analysts and coaches who have spent a career evaluating talent.

Public service announcement — Don’t be that guy.

I think he does, also, but I don't think it's who you think it is.

No, I don't think he's talking about me, nor do I think I'm very knowledgable. That's the basis of my system. It was not created to prove I'm smarter than college coaches. It was actually created to completely defer evaluation of recruits to the actual college coaches who recruit them, by looking at who thought enough of the recruits to offer them. I honestly don't know who he's talking about, though.

Your system makes perfect sense, and no, I don't think you designed it to show yourself "smarter" than the recruiting services either.   If not you, I have no idea who he's talking about..., but that's a very specific accusation.

You ignore the other comments in the article. Think people who always tell you that you have to wait 4 years and trust that the coaches have found the non-existent "hidden gem" that they will develop into 4 or 5 star talent. The people that constantly cite the unicorns. You know who they are.

Please let Hamilton be our big surprise today !!

If we're looking for a 'surprise', I hope it's someone bigger than him.  He seems almost in the bag.  A welcomed addition for sure, but we need to get better.

OK.  How about Hamilton AND a final flip back to UNT from Keenen Johnson ;)

It would be nice to add at least 2 more 3* players today.

Now we're talking!   Hopefully there's another ace up Littrell's sleeve that we don't know about either.

I love how Vito seems to pull isolated comments on the board to base his topics. Like when did the UNT fan base get out of whack expectations about who Littrell could land at QB?

Seriously? Take a look at posts right after Littrell's hire.

I don't recall anyone stating we are going to hit grand slams on the recruiting trail. I recall people stating that QB's and other skilled position players will be more inclined to give us a look due to what we will be running now. But please, feel free to dig them up for us.

Exactly^^^

Maybe a few over zealous fans, but the vast majority of fans weren't expecting Littrell to work any miracles in the couple months he had to work with.

I don't think he is talking about you, and if he is he is missing the entire point of your system.  Your system rely's on offers from the coaching staffs. which I think is a good way to differentiate between the mass of low 3's/high 2's that the experts don't spend a lot of time on, and unfortunately we rely on recruiting right now,
