THE 2011 FABULOUS 55: HOW FAB WERE THEY?

Suzanne Halliburton’s look back at the American-Statesman’s Fabulous 55 list of the state’s top recruits of 2011 — and how their careers panned out:

RANK, PLAYER;POS.;HIGH SCHOOL;COLLEGE;COMMENT

1. Steve Edmond;ILB;Daingerfield;Texas;Started 34 games for Texas; his 323 career tackles were 23 away from UT’s all-time top 10 list.

2. Brandon Williams;RB;Brookshire Royal;Oklahoma;Williams transferred to Texas A&M, where he was moved to CB.

3. Trey Metoyer;WR;Whitehouse;Oklahoma;Took an extra year to qualify, then was kicked out of OU after an arrest.

4;Sedrick Flowers;OG;G.P. North Shore;Texas;Played in 31 career games at Texas, with 14 starts.

5;Malcolm Brown;RB;Cibolo Steele;Texas;Finished No. 9 on UT’s career rushing list (2,678 yards), with 11 100-yard games.

6;Jaxon Shipley;WR;Brownwood;Texas;35 starts, and his 218 career catches ranked No. 3 in UT history.

I thought so as well.  Look how far down the list Johnny was.
