I'm trying to come up with UNT/NTSU players that have played in the Super Bowl.  I have Joe Greene, and Brian Waters with the Pats in his last season.  I'm blank after that.  Anyone else?

Baker punted for the Rams. Did Shanklin play in one with the Steelers? Awasom was with the Giants but got sent home the week of the Super Bowl, don't know if he got a ring or not.

Not exactly the Super Bowl scenario to remember fondly, but Adrian Awasom did manage to make an headlines despite being on IR...

People involved: Adrian Awasom, New York Giants
 
Incident: Being on injured reserve after breaking his neck during the regular season, the backup defensive end just had way too much time on his hands. This can only end poorly. Awasom partied like there was no tomorrow, and ended up getting arrested on suspicion of "extreme DUI," that means he was double the legal limit for all of you non-legal eagles.
 
Result: Awasom was sent home and couldn't even be with his team for one of the greatest upsets in Super Bowl history, as the Giants defeated the undefeated Patriots 17-14. At least he didn't have to pay his own airfare to the game like former Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey.

Also, unfortunately, Jeff Rodgers followed John Fox to Chicago so he won't be coordinating the Broncos' Special Teams unit this time around.

Didn't Hardman play in a Superbowl with the 49ers?

Edit:  Looked it up, no Superbowl appearance with the 49ers.  However, did you know our man Cedrick was the 9th player picked in the first round of the 1970 NFL draft.  Pretty impressive.

He wasn't listed on the roster.  I think he had already retired.

      Caponi fired

      I understand that his decisions to go for it on 4th down so much or not to kick FGs or play the field position game are bad decisions. Just playing Devil's advocate. Could it be that those decisions stem from a lack of confidence in the defense? It feels like he believes he has to score TDs on every possession to win because the defense will not stop anyone. So, that takes me back to he should have never kept Caponi after year one.

      I went to the game, again we started slow and accelerated in the second quarter outscoring ACU 27-12. We let them back in it and the lead got down to three points twice. But we went on a game-sealing 11-0 run to take a 66-52 lead as Lampkin took over. One of ACU's starting bigs went out late with an apparent back injury. She's from Bixby, Oklahoma, which is where I've gotten my only speeding ticket, so maybe she deserved it. As for the arena, it shares the same name as SMU's (Moody Coliseum) and looks like a carbon copy of TCU's (albeit half the size). Recently renovated and very nice. The ACU men hosted TXST shortly after. Which we could get some better men's/women's doubleheaders and on the weekend to help boost the ladies' attendance.
