Then we go back to recruiting kids who have little to no offers.  More people complain and more negative threads.  I agree with Dawn though, got to watch him several times and I have no doubt he can contribute and make plays on a Sun Belt CUSA level team.

Agree with you totally but I think that the Metroplex is so saturated with talent, these guys fall by the wayside. Xavier Scott is a monster and has no offers

I think teams get too caught up in measurables, stars, and rankings. There was a 2016 athlete just today scout raised to a 3 star and get picked up 4 offers the same day. You hear he is not big enough, he is not fast enough. Then they go to a juco, and two years later P5 teams are fighting over them. I believe to be a successful at a school like UNT you have to hit on kids like that.

Just for instance the guard we had committed last year that ended up going juco and signed with K state at mid semester this year.

I believ eif you dominate like scott did in 5a texas high school football you should be able to play at the sun belt and c usa levels some where. And it may be grades with him I don't know.

But there werected 17 fcs players drafted last year. So I know not ever kid that just has fcs offers is not going to be able to contribute.

The thing is, you look at the best teams in our conference like Marshall, La Tech, Southern Miss, and WKU and they're doing it with signing classes filled with players who had 3+ other FBS offers. That being said, they also all have key players who had less than that, and sometimes even no other FBS offers.

The range I usually say is 1-3 kids per class where we are their only FBS offer is a good number as long as we are in CUSA. Especially as long as you are filling the rest of your class with players with good offer lists. You just really start playing with fire the more prospects like that you get. In 2012 I want to say 13 of the 22 high school kids we signed had 1 or no other FBS offers. And the production from that class has just been terrible, in all honesty. Especially when you look outside Carlos Haris.

The key is that when you get those players it's because you want them and really see something in them. Not because you can't get the kids you actually want because you can't win a recruiting battle.
