The kid never played for JJ.  Played one year for TB.  JJ recruited him because JJ saw a huge opportunity for inside out and pick & pop action with his bigs, especially TM.  That action is non existent in TB's offense(whatever his offense is).  Not defending poor shooting, but expecting a freshman to be your zone buster that year after Walton went down was asking a lot.  Look at the roster turnover.  Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what's gone on.

I forgot Benford coached us the last season in the sunbelt. Your correct. I am also not defending Benford. I'm not sure what the end game for our offense is, but it is puzzling at times.

For 4 freaking years. And it's been allowed to continue. This is example #1 that UNT simply doesn't care about winning or building a fan base. UNT stood by while this program was deconstructed right in front of donors eyes, not holding RV or Benford accountable. 

Just amazing when you think about it.
