Pretty simple, they recruit kids who don't take 3 years to develop a jump shot. They can already shoot. They stay in the program, and don't get run off after 1-2 seasons.

I just find it hard to believe these guys cannot shoot. Shooting even when covered is easy to me. I suck at dribbling but that's why these guys play d1 ball. They should be able to do it all. I think they need to have the freedom to take the shots and not be punished for a miss.

I blame poor free throw shooting. We've only hit 9 in this game (as of 1:59 to play).

Improve there, and maybe we'd have won this game and maybe be over .500.

Also, what if we'd shot at 300% instead of just 100%?

You sir are becoming delusional. The speed of a game you play at vs the speed of game these guys play at is like Jr. high vs Varsity. We didn't recruit well enough to be competitive, in year 4. We have no pure shooters... Not even deckie, he's streaky at best.

Ward was brought in as a shooter and Anefiok and Harris were shooters. Who were our shooters in the past? Thomspon, Davis, Watson, and Davis again. We had some really good pure shooters but others guys who were not recruited as shooters would contribute and make 3's. It's like Watson said about a month ago when talking to Dave. We need to just start shooting more. He said we don't pull it enough and pass it to much. He said there was a game where JJ said I want you to go and pull it every chance you have. He said JJ essentially told them to shoot the ball as much as you can. Benford doesn't seem fond of shooting unless your 100% wide open.

I hear you. I haven't played in years but I can shoot from anywhere on the court.

Now making them is another thing.

So Benford can't evaluate talent? Harris nut job, ward bench player at best, and anefiok... Well I'll just leave it at that. Time to see the door.

I think he is decent at evaluatin talent, but doesn't let them play their game. Except for Reese and Combs. He had let them loose. Reese could turn over the ball 20 times and stay in the game. Anybody else and they would be benched. It's actually not a bad thing though because it's clear Reese and Combs are comfortable out there. Nobody else is.

The differential from behind the ARC was 15. Good to know if we ever lose by 15 or less to you that's a close game and no big deal. After giving it some thought, I agree with Andrew. If Benford would just turn the guys loose and let them score more points than the other team we'd win more games.

Perhaps he just hasn't thought of that brilliant strategy yet
